My son will be 17 years old in August. He will be a senior high school student next year. We are in a search now for a collage. He is on H4 (I am on H1b) and our I-485 for green card is in process- estimated to complete a year from now.
Do we need to work on status change (student visa) for him? and when? I believe that if the Green Card is approved, he will not need a student visa, but have no clue if he can register to collage with H4.
Thanks,

An H4 is normally valid until a child reaches the age of 21 - then he or she would need a student visa (unless of course, he/she had a GC)
