Some time uscis issue 2 years I-551 Card, conditional some time they issue 10 years. according to the Law they should always issue 2 years card in the marriage base cases.

I have also seen in some cases uscis has issued ten years cards also if you are married for more then two years.

I sent a copy of the original copy of my Romanian Birth Certificate and a copy of a translate birth certificate. The translation was done in Romania though.

Hope this helps

Good Luck!

Peru

I think you refer to I-485 not I185. To answer your question if what I wrote above applies, while I-485 is pending you are not out of status. If it will be denied based on what the reason will be you have 30 days to make an appeal. In that case I would suggest you consult a lawyer. Hope this will answer your question

Good Luck!

Hey Ramalotti,

Thank you for your reply, yes, it did help a lot! Thank you very much. I was sort of sure this is how it has to be done, but I just wanted to make sure. Thank you again, and have a wonderful life in US. Smile
