Hi Speedy: just like in most scenarios, the truth in the instant case has three sides - the truth that he claims, the truth that you suspect, and the real (unadulterated) truth.

I didn't entertain any thoughts other that what the OP claimed, as far as the manner of his departure is concerned, for the simple reason that either way (removal proceedings or voluntary departure), the 10-year bar shall kick in for him. And he logged in here to seek our help on how he could possibly gain US reentry as soon as possible - that's the issue.

Likewise, in my opinion, very few posters will distort such kind of facts if they genuinely need help especially with the convenient shroud of anonymity.

Actually, the point that you raised is not my own issue with him. It's rather how he reacted to the challenges thrown his way by some of our members, which are natural among public discussion boards. Instead of defending his case, he opted to take the offensive stance. So he didn't gain much sympathy, he repelled it.
