Actually, I'm making steady progress. The hard part is the molding and door frames. Just finished the ceiling in our bedroom. Next stop is the walls and master bath.

My suggestion for painting trim work. Use masking tape liberally. Creates clean edges and is much faster than trying to be careful.

You voted democrat. This country is not worth sneaking into any more.

Straight Edge Cardboard Works Nicely Also. Or Readily Available Trim guides.

With that you also have the problem of running paint when you pull the edger away. Tape is the best way to go.

I wholeheartedly agree with this method. Just don't pull the tape until the paint is dry (and don't wait too long afterward either). Both scenarios require serious rework - lol! Smile

One other thing. It also depends on the type of paint. If you're using a latex type paint you will need to remove the tape quickly. Otherwise you will end up ripping some of the paint off if you let it dry at all. If its a flat or non gloss base paint you probably won't have much of an issue with it. Is this Home Depot or ILW?

I'm using a combination of acrylic latex for bedrooms and bathrooms, and flat for the halls and living room. Already learned my lesson with the masking tape as the latex has a lovely tendency to pull the moment it dries. Of course, I'm in the DESERT in the MIDDLE OF SUMMER so it dries in, oh, roughly 15 seconds.

I will be using a combination of masking tape and edger for the molding since I can't very well tape the carpet.
