I came to US on H1B visa based on my Civil engineering Degree. Now I am getting a job in software based on my prior experience. Can I shift to new job? If yes then what should be the procedure? Do I need to take a new H1B Visa or I Can my existing H1Visa be changed to the new company?

you can do a transfer of the visa. this will take shorter time than the first h1b visa application. Good Luck!

You will need to file for a change of employer and then you can start working for the new employer.
