I am grateful to all who gave their advise. Yes I am a citizen. Adjustment is in for her but we are waiting for permit which her letter says is 80 days wait also 365 to 540 days for adjustment and in mean time I want her on all my documents but as you all know without a social that is almost impossible and I understand we have to show that we have a legit relationship. I heard about ITIN just wasn't sure if I could use for anything other than tax purposes. THANKS

About your post trust me i was not trying to be rude or mean or whatever u know .If my first words sounded mean i apologize and i hope i did helped you with the rest of my post .But Anyways yes get a tax id number and get things started .Okay.

Well, I will say that I didn't know that it was practically impossible to put someone on your account without a social or TIN number, but that may be because I was able to put my husband on both my checking and savings accounts in my bank and on one of my credit cards, simply by providing ID and signature (obtained via mail). All of the above is completely legal to the best of my knowledge as I can still be held accountable for what happens with those accounts.

However, if you have the time to wait a TIN number is a great idea. Hope it goes quickly for you
