Please help. I am having a hard time filing out the papers to sponsor my parents.Especially with the tax part. Can I send transcripts instead of the 1040 forms and do i have to send the w2s also? The affidavit of support documents state that u have to attach the w2s, the original 1040 (or copies), it doesn't say that you can send transcripts...We are now going crazy that we cannot send this out now. Or can we? Can we send one form first, then the rest? Or something like that? Please, anyone, if you have gone through this please let me know.Did you use a lawyer, or did you do it on your own? What would you suggestion be?Was it hard for you to fill out the papers and send additional documents? Please help, if you can.I need direction. Thanks. (and please ask me any additional questions).
Luck and happiness to all. Thanks.

Transcripts will satisfy the requirement to supply tax returns. The only time the W-2 comes into play is if there is a joint sponsor who is married and only one spouse of the couple is acting as the joint sponsor. I assume you are filing an I-864. What consulate are you dealing with, or is this an AOS?
It would be better if you explained the whole situation better.
The 2004 tax info is not needed until after April 1st (when the 2005 poverty guidelines are published). You can send transcripts of the tax years 2001-2003. Very unfortunate that you have to file for your parents now that the NYC pilot program has ended.
Your husband would not be a joint sponsor. He would be a household member (I-864A form). Why do you say that your husband's most recent paystub would not be sufficient? Is the income of you and your husband enough to support a family of 4 ($23,562)? I assume it is just you, your husband, and your two parents in the house, correct?
By the way, what is the reason that the attorney is giving that you cannot petition for your father?

No, my parents do not live with us. My husband and I live together, my parents live at a different location. Also New York.
I would die to move to Florida, though, yes, I do love the Ocean at Night ( or at day). Would this make things better??? My parents in law live in Florida. But it would be a pain somehow, we would all have to get new jobs, etc...but applying from Florida would be an advantage immigration wise, they process cases faster there(or do they?). Middle life crisis, I guess. I do not know. I am fed up. Yes, as I always believed: connections are everything, in every field.
Spy, I forgot to ask you: What is "NYC pilot program" ? I never heard of it. Can you tell me about it? You did say it ended, but i am curious to know. Thanks, Spy.
Yes, you can count unemployment towards income. While you only need to show tax years 2001-2003, you still also need to show that your household income is sufficient to sponsor your mother. If that is not the case, you should get a job so that your estimated combined yearly salary with your husband is above $24,000.
For the most part, Florida is not faster. Tampa, Jacksonville, Orlando - they're all slow too.
Very nice to see you back. I was wondering what happened to you and why we never heard back from you. It is good that you are keeping strong. It is a shame that you have the celebration of obtaining citizenship but then have all of the stress associated with a poor attorney. Too bad you couldn't retain the "good" attorney for the rest of your cases.
The NYC pilot program ran for most of 2004. Anyone who wanted to adjust status usually had their case processed in 90 days. Anyone who filed before 2004 had to wait 2 or more years to adjust status.
It's so unbelievable! I never heard of this Program before, and from what u describe, that program was great! And I missed it. With a lawyer on my side. I did try to keep the good lawyer, but he said that he cannot take the case, because it is the "bad lawyer" ' s case. He said the bad lawyer gave him the case only for that "part". I begged him, I said please. Then he added that the "bad lawyer" is a friend of his. I said please again, I told him that i admire him, etc... but it didn't work. So I do not like this good lawyer anymore. He didn't give a ****. He knows that his friend can mess our case again and we are better of in the good lawyer's hand's, but he will rather refuse to continue doing good, than do this to his so lovely friend.
Spy, Do I have to send all the forms together? Can I send a form only(and which one?) so I can get the case started? How about the medical? Now as the lawyer says, or later, as the immigration says? So are you going to write to "ocean..."? Or you refuse to? lol Or you just missed it?
I am NOT keeping strong, Spy. I was just asking you if I should go to Bellevue Hospital yet? Or will they admit me? I don't even think they would. They wouldn't be able to handle me, lol . But I am still going!
