My hubby just called me from work. He received a job offer in Connecticut. It pays less but he hates Long Islandm, where we currently live (because of the traffic).
The thing is we will be living in a hotel for a couple of months until we get a real place. It's likely that the goverment will provide us the housing and pay for the hotel in the meantime.
Can I give the INS a hotel address or a P.O. Box? Can we give them my mother-in-law address explaining them that we are in a hotel for a couple months and that we will give them a permanent address soon?
If you take a look to the AR-11 itself, you should see that there is a question if the address to where you are going is going to be temporarily and if so then to state for how long approximately you will be there.
What you have to do is put the address of the hotel, and then mark that is going to be temporarily and approximate time.
As soon as you move out from the Hotel to your new home, then you file another AR-11.

Also you can get a 'mailboxes etc.' address which is like a drop box/post office mailbox but always has a street address.. use that as your permanent address in the city where you are moving to with the hotel as the temporary address
