1. I was laid off by Company-A on June 15,2000
2. In anticipation, (I got offer from Company-B and) applied for H1 transfer in June 2000 itself.
3. At that time I believe H1-Portabily was not there and waited till my H1B Approval notice, which came on July 25,2000 with new I-94 card attached. I started working from Company-B from Aug 1,2000.
4. This means, I was not working from June 15 - July 31.
5. Company-A never cancelled my H1B to my knowledge.

q1. Is this "out of status" ? or "unlawful presence" ?.
q2. Do I need to mention to INS during any stage of GC.
q3. Any other implications on CP/AOS options ?

Thanks
Chanma
