On mother tongue:

"A first language (also mother tongue, native language, arterial language, or L1) is the language a human being learns from birth....

The term "mother tongue" should not be interpreted to mean that it is the language of one's mother...."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mother_tongue

On giving or helping others:

Matthew 6

1"Be careful not to do your 'acts of righteousness' before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.

2"So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. 3But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

"The letter of the law is a sword that killeth; its intent is a spirit that giveth life." (Justice Holmes on 3 Cor 3:6)

Perhaps you should have asked wikapedia if there is such a language as British. That should have been a clue. You see, sometimes there are nuances in what is written giving rise to other indirect meanings. Not trying to be tricky but there is more to language than dictionaries and dry literal interpretation.

About your biblical quote. Well, there is more to that too. If I were to list all charitable acts on this site it would still be outside the scope of this parable. Why? Because in order to receive glory the individual would need to be identified. I am not known. We are all still anonymous here. And, charity is not inclusive to what I wrote about. That argument is out of place and irrelevant.

Multiple exclamation points as of today alone.

Not getting tired of spinning, twisting, and turning words that when distilled to their barest essence ultimately lays flat to the rock bottom floor of what I call... NONSENSE?!?!

Indeed, Houston, they're good quotes. Thanks.

This is funny. Had to call in a lifeline? Anyone else beside Houston on the speed dial?

That may be part of the problem. Don't distill so much. Or better yet, quit drinking what your distilling. Its clouding your judgment, LOL.

Your senses are deceiving you again. Not what I meant concerning Houston.

That new guy has you correctly measured up. You're the one full of anger and resentment. Peace, outta here.

Owwww yeah? Lying, too, has no limits...

You, that new(?) guy, and the other 'unmentionables' have been correctly measured up not by me anyway but by many.

Prejudice means prejudice. Bitterness means bitterness. Hatred means hatred. However hard you sugarcoat, sour grape, twist, or spin them!

Sorry, truth hurts!

Read back, my friends. Yes, that, and see how I sprinkled more and more salt into his open wounds. Did you see his gangrene symptom post about Philippines in the other thread? More will come. Trust me. Remember: in hatred, the hater consumes more the hater than the hated. Yak yak yak!

Am I wrong? Find a thread where RN was able to debate an issue without her slandering the person. Few if any exist. It is you RN who instigates hostilities with thinly veiled rude comments the majority of times. Why is it then I can disagree with the most of the other liberals here without it turning as ugly? Maybe its you?

Another twist. Show me some posts where you actually carried a conversation past a few posts that didn't turn argumentative, with anyone? One that was pleasant or worse, humorous? Actually made someone laugh? I don't recall a one. Always the same diatribe of insults and overblown self glorifying commentary. Sad really.

All my posts are there for all to see - raw and unaltered.

Translation: you can't easily get over me despite your prejudiced view of me that I'm less than you and you're more than me. Because, trust me, you have to do one hell lot of work to have it happen. Just tell me when, where and how - I'll be there!!!

San Diego. PM me, I'll give you directions.

Get over you? Do I know you?

Its not a matter of being more or less. That is from your own thinking, not mine. Its all about right and wrong. This post was about illegals and their impact on the economy, remember?

You're the culprit, derogatory or not, the one who set the tenor of the conversation, in your futile attempt to discredit me personally, remember? Haha! Coward!

Discrediting? You confuse disagreeing with discredit. Either way the weakness of your arguments are revealed each time you resort to personal attack. Point made once again, you lost.

That is the liberal way. The arguments have no substance so you resort to slandering the opposing side. Typical and reveals the emptiness of position.

Coward? How so? An open invitation was made. Question is, for what purpose? Answer that if you follow through with the already known to be empty request.

Personal attack?

Where did I do that which is not in response to yours?

My "Foreign arrogance" and that I'm a "Filipina" and such other labels about me, short of saying that I should shut up.

Sound familiar?

To which I responded about your own "foreign" origin.

I can only agree that I lost if you can show me where and when you won.

For I can see none.

Lets review the tapes. You started with the first personal insult, as usual:

Aha! It’s laughable once again, eh? But who is laughing, you? How many times you must be told that nonsense won’t count? But on second thought, what else is new? You remain as laughable as a laughable comic could ever be!
----------------------------------------------

My comment about you being filipina:

A9, RN is filipina. Pictures need altered.
----------------------------------------------

What was inflammatory about that?

What you said concerning my foreign origin:

...whose own pop, oh well... I'd rather leave his foreign father alone... because the 'baby' isn't sure either if he was from Austria or Hungary...

...another loose info revealed about her origin and your at-large papa...

Very nice. Implying I don't know who my dad is. I am neither immigrant nor are my parents.

Case closed bitter one.

Case reopened sua sponte.

In the first evidence presented, you said first: "The link Rn posted is laughable." To which I responded accordingly. The key phrase of course is "in response to yours."

In the second evidence, there's nothing inflammatory there but something very discriminatory. How can I be called Filipina just because I have Filipino parentage? What makes me distinct from someone like you whose parents are from Europe? Please explain.

In your third evidence, you said first: "Foreign arrogance is astounding but predictable." However you deny it, this is a racial comment to which I just responded appropriately. Again, the key phrase is "in response to yours."

Finally, you said: "Very nice. Implying I don't know who my dad is. I am neither immigrant nor are my parents."

A statement that I find very difficult to reconcile with your very own statement that goes: "My mother's tongue is British, Dad's is I'm not sure. Either Austrian or Hungarian."

One whose mother is British and whose father is either (not sure) Austrian or Hungarian, claims neither to be an immigrant nor his parents.

I remember one of my religion teacher's words that anybody who claims not to have lied just commits another lie!

Bitter, me? Hahaha! After my candidate has just trounced yours? And your party's misfits are one by one tossed away to oblivion?

Think again.

So how did we get from the OP's statement to the red herring arguments by Davdah?
