The fine will never happen. For those that can pay it, few, they will. The majority will not and will stay in the shadows. That assumes the fine element remains intact. There will be law suits alleging they are being taken advantage of. That we are trying to fix our economy on their backs. That its an unfair tax, etc, etc...

The last thing we need to dole out is credit for fixing something they helped to create in the first place. Think about this all you liberal types. Most of you probably have a job that is 'illegal safe'. Meaning an illegal can't steal it from you. For example. Being a pilot for fed ex.

What if that changed? What if the rules were even more lax and a new law passed saying no employer could ask about status. You don't think fed ex wouldn't hire a lot of illegals for 1/2 your salary? Its happened to a lot already. Construction, meat packing, and manufacturing to name a few. Add to this you being called a racist if you complain about it. You didn't want the job to begin with. You just have sour grapes. You're being greedy. They just want to support their families.

Now imagine a different world. One were a version of e-verify was implemented. Granted, in its present form its not very user friendly. Has too many restrictions. The basics of the system are sound. It needs some cosmetic adjustments with a less is more implementation. After which little enforcement would be necessary. Hiring an illegal would be more trouble than its worth. You keep your job. No huge expenditures for enforcement personnel.

BTW, real pilots fly low wing aircraft, LOL.

Not possible in my industry because the TSA mandated background checks which all new hires have to go through would catch out a potential illegal immigrant pilot. Besides which, most companies ask for proof of right to work in USA before hiring. They've been doing that for years, long before 911.

You yourself will know having just taken training for your IFR rating that you had to show proof of citizenship before receiving any training. If you are a non-USC, you also have to provide proof of your legal status in the USA.

Low wings are for pansies Wink

What if the TSA buckled under pressure from the carriers? I'm sure they complain about the salaries they pay you guys. If the economy gets bad enough and fed ex, ups, dhl all threatened bankruptcy. A dramatic need to reduce costs would be necessary to avoid a disaster. Wouldn't take much more than the current look the other way policy currently in other industries to be extended to yours. Just think for a moment. What if? Would it still be fair?

The link Rn posted is laughable.

Aha! It’s laughable once again, eh? But who is laughing, you? How many times you must be told that nonsense won’t count? But on second thought, what else is new? You remain as laughable as a laughable comic could ever be!

Don’t give me once again your incessant faith in intensified arrests and raids on workplaces because I’ve got news for you – they’re going to end sooner than your expectations and constant wishes. That’s laughable.

And don’t put your bet so heavily on your “drying up of jobs” and “making it difficult to hire illegal workers” tired refrain. Its highly flawed tool, since IRCA of 1986 to E-Verify of today, will soon expire in March 2009, the re-authorization of which now hangs in a very shaky balance in the hands of the ever-expanding House and Senate majority. That’s more laughable.

By the way, yet another seat has been handed over to the Democrats by Alaska’s ex-Senator Stevens’ historic and painful defeat. Add to that the Democratic Party’s pardon accorded to Senator Lieberman after his last election adventurism. Every vote counts if only to overcome the GOP’s filibuster which, if nothing else, something that your legislative buddies can do best. That’s even more laughable.

Do you remember these catch phrases:- hardworking individuals that fill jobs Americans won’t do? Get them out of the shadows? Pay back taxes or fines and fall at the back of the line? Pass English, criminal, and health tests? Anyway we’re a nation of immigrants?

These were the campaign trail baits utilized in 2004 to pander, nope – scam – for votes to swindle the Latino-rich Southwest. End of the day, nothing happened! The rest is history – and these strong backs/small heads miserably would never rule ever after, ever, ever, ever again for a long, long time. And that’s the most laughable thing of them all.

Foreign arrogance is astounding but predictable. Anyone with half a brain knows none of those talking points will be implemented. What is going to happen in the mean time while the five years or so passes trying to learn English? What happened to going to the back of the line?

Sorry, you have no news for me. No matter how loud or from high a hill you scream it. Or times repeating ever, ever, ever as often as you like. Facts are what they are. If e-verify or its soon to be improved version were not to be implemented, why is it still out there? Why is it being improved? This program does exist unlike the fantasy of language and fines being whispered about. Seems to me there is a purpose and a plan. Maybe OhNoBama forgot to tell you. The day of reckoning is coming, sooner than expected.

The days of being a nation of immigrants has run its course. We are a sovereign nation, period.

The TSA are God in aviation. Higher than the FAA. Remember that little incident called 911? They were formed to prevent that from ever happening again. What you suggest is not gonna happen. If anything, it's being tightened up. The (passenger) airlines have until January to start screening all cargo aboard their airplanes.

Haha! Oh, I forgot to add earlier, sorry. One thing that's very, very, very laughable in the highest possible degree is the fact that I know you so much more than you can possibly dream of knowing me!

Because when pushed into a corner in a debate - it's not a question of if but it's a matter of when - the issue of my being an "immigrant" and "foreigner" (hereunto implicitly referred to above as "foreign arrogance") will set in.

To which I say in return: "How could a Fourteenth Amendment 'baby' of a hundred percent immigrant lineage be as blindly arrogant as one could get?"

One whose 'significant other' hailed from Indonesia; whose own mom hailed from England; and whose own pop, oh well... I'd rather leave his foreign father alone... because the 'baby' isn't sure either if he was from Austria or Hungary.

The first one was about being charged too much for cutting grass. That and being taxed to death.

The second for giving kids of illegals extra benefits beyond those that anyone else would receive.

The last was more of the same about benefits.

I'll take this to mean your saying I did in the situation where I said they should not get the benefits due to parental status. To fine tune the point. I didn't demonize them. I said they shouldn't benefit beyond anyone else for what their parents did. To say a person should be punished for their parents sins is far from saying they should not be bestowed gifts for those same sins.

In simple terms so even a Polock can understand. I don't support throwing someone into hell only because the parents are already there. At the same time I don't think a free pass to the promised land is deserved for the same thing.

Nice try. My mother's tongue is British, Dad's is I'm not sure. Either Austrian or Hungarian."

Rings a bell?

You must have a lot of time on your hands to keep track of posts that far back. Especially mine that number nearly 6000. You have all my writings memorized, categorized, and pasted on your dimly lit bedroom walls? Should I be flattered or afraid, LOL?

This is another American concept you may not be aware of. It is common to say I'm this or that nationality when referring to the first country a person's descendants are from. Have you heard people say I'm 1/2 this and 1/4 that? I'm sure you have. That is what I was getting at.

Ring your bell now?

One last thing, I'm not a 14th amendment baby. Care to retract your careless a.ssertion of knowledge?

I have a lot of time on my hands to keep track of and memorize your posts? No no, just a little commonsense to know how to use the "Find" option at the top left hand corner of the discussion panel. Keyword: mother. I remembered this from among your several slip-ups, when in one of our past debates I used the phrase "mother tongue" (translation: primary language) which you mistook it to mean in reference to your own momma. Hence, another loose info revealed about her origin and your at-large papa.

Should you be flattered or afraid? Be neither. Just stay as cute and ignorant a British/Austrian/Hungarian hybrid as you are!

And, oh, I'm not retracting anything already a.sserted. Not here. Not now. Not with you. Did I ever concoct anything about your bloodline? Nahh, haha! Blame your loose tongue. If you were born here of immigrant parents, thank the Fourteenth Amendment. If you were naturalized, thank Article 1 Section 8 of the Constitution and INA. That's up to you. But I'm not taking back what I already said.

There's a universal concept that you may not be aware of. That of 'giving someone the dose of his own medicine.' It works wonders all the time. And the giver always laughs out loud!

100% sure! I'm both from here and from the outside - both an insider and an outsider. I know how you think, yet you could never know how I think, ever. Yes, indeed, my thought process and thinking are not only different, but also a lot better! Any objections?

Rn, Not really. If you weren't aware of that simple facet of Americana its an obvious case of overstated presumptions. That and to underestimate an adversary on assumption is equally foolish.

A9, RN is filipina. Pictures need altered.
