Can any body tell me how long it will take for some one to get work permit after marrying to some one with green card. Assuming the person is in the USA.

Hi, once you apply for the work permit it takes about 3 months, and if you don't get it in 90 days you can go to a service center and they will give to you if they don't meet the 90 days deadline.

I am sorry, but you will not get a work permit based on the marriage to LPR (someone with a green card). That privilege is only for USC spouses. And for those, who are married to LPRs and waited for about 5 years for their visa number to become current.

Neither will you have a legal status based on filed I-130.

You will not get a work permit by marrying a LPR - but if you apply for your own GC, you can apply for a work permit in the interim - while you wait for the visa etc.
