Hi members,

I changed my name at the interview. Actually just made it shorter. And now I regret it at the time it felt it would be easier for Americans to pronounce my name. But then there are other implications that could come about in my country. anyway a stoopid thing to do. please help and let me know what i can do. i wrote the officer and requested to get my name back but who knows.
thank you

Hi- not long like 30 minutes? I did not think that mattered. the officer was sounding like it would be better and i have to correct people all the time and now it just does not make sense. anyway what should I do? my interview was 2 days ago.

lol chance.

not the duration of 30 minutes...

make info pass appointment to see if you can see that officer. or... even better.. call the local district office becuase you have the officers name . ask to speak with him.

This is going to be difficult to get that number. you may have to go there and ask security for the phone number of the ofice.. explain why you have to speak with the officer before the application is processed.

Good Luck

Well, changing a name is something to think very hard for,its like having a tattoo,u think about it for months or years before getting it..

so i do not really get how u decide to have your name changed but then regret it.Makes no sence.

if it makes u feel better, alot of people change their names all the time, not only with n400 even afterwards and born citziens change names...

U can be born David Luke, and have your name changed to Steve Bauer....
