Kem cho Patel Saheb? SAL MUBARAK... Smile

No you guys don't need a transit visa as long as you will be staying on airport and don't enter the city... but make sure you guys take all your documents including your marriage certificate as while coming back from India over there they might ask you to show everything .... Keep those documents in handbag with you... Have a safe and fun journey...Pasha Smile

If your final destination is United States or Canada, you may come to US/Canada either through Atlantic or Pacific route. For Atlantic route, you may have a stop over in London, Paris, Frankfurt, Amsterdam etc. For Pacific route, you may have a stop over in Singapore, Hong Kong etc.

During your intermediate international stop over, if you have sufficient time and you want to tour the city and/or country, you may apply for transit visa at the appropriate counter at the airport. Transit visa is a temporary short period visa during your journey. Some countries require that you have a stop over of minimum of 24 hours to grant you transit visa. But Singapore provides transit visa for a stop over of as less as 4 hours. They even have airport transportation available at no charge for passenger tour.

Recently, several countries have started to require transit visa for persons transiting their countries even if they do not want to go out of airport. However, most people who are going to or coming from with valid visa do not require transit visa. There has been lot of confusion in this regard among people and many times even airline staff does not have correct information.

Airport Transit in Germany

Visa needed?
Entry clearance requirements are dependent on the citizenship and the resident status of the applicant. Due to its location at the heart of Europe, Germany is an important transit country. The vast majority of travellers do not need a visa when airtransitting through Germany. However, citizens of some countries do need an airport transit visa.
Please note that an airport transit visa only allows a short stay in the international transit area, neither leaving the airport's international transit area nor overnight stays are possible. more...
Country list that require transit visa ...

Afghanistan (please see exception 2)

Angola
Bangladesh (please see exception 2)

Congo, Democratic Republic (please see exception 2)

Eritrea (please see exception 1)

Ethiopia (please see exception 2)

Gambia

Exception no 1 :-
