Just went for our interview for marriage based status on Friday. All went well - our appt. was at 7 am.. We got there, turned in our paperwork and then waited until about 8:35 for the 4 minute interview. Now we're waiting on the fingerprinting letter.

Has anyone gone through the Dallas Pilot Program recently? If so, how long has it taken for the fingerprinting letter and your conditional GC to arrive, etc.???

Thanks!

Update! Interviewed 6/4; received notice of action for fingerprinting on 6/26 (3 weeks later, not 10 days like they said...); Got in for fingerprints on 6/30. They were very fast and efficient at the INS processing center and we were in and out within 30 minutes of our appointment time (for fingerprints & biometrics). Now we just have to wait for the temp. green card to arrive! Hopefully in a month - Dallas processing center is pilot for processing everything within 90 days. So far...so good.

Hopefully for all here if the Dallas/LA/Florida "Pilot" progams go well they will soon kick this off nation-wide so all can benefit from it.

Good luck to you.

Congratulations. I am glad that things are progressing for you. My fiance and I will be going through the same process in July in Dallas. I was wondering how long from when you submitted your paperwork did you have your interview?

Thanks

I dont think they have this pilot program in other area. I know they dont have one in Florida. I have asked my brother to check with Fl office, TX is also attending to all cases from south as well.

We made our appointment (online through InfoPass) a month in advance (we could have gottten one earlier but were awaiting our certified copy of our marriage certificate b/c we were just married in May). On the appointment day, we took all our papers, paid the fee's ($570) and they reviewed them and then we were called right in there on the spot for an interview. It took 3 weeks for the fingerprint & biometric letter to come - got in the very next day from the day we rec'd that letter and were in and out of there in 30 minutes.

Just looked on line today to check status and it said background check complete and sent to local office!! Who hoo. Looks like now we await conditional green card in next month. So far it's been just over 1 month for the entire process. Unbelievable in comparison to other stories on this board.

Good luck - this sounds like an awesome deal for backlog if they implement it everywhere.

Oh Milton - to answer your question - DO NOT SEND YOUR PAPERS IN PRIOR TO YOUR APPT!! You first make your appt online through the InfoPass and then you take all your papers (I-I30 and I-485 and a few others - you'll have to read the info on the USCIS website) with you on your appt date. They apparently review them and if they are complete, they interview you right then and there on the spot. Then you go for fingerprints and so on. You also DO need to have & take your medical exam with you and submit with your papers at that initial appt. time too.

hope that clarifies it.

Thanks so much for your input. It really sounds like this program (for you) may actually work in the 90 days timeframe they are targeting. We've engaged a lawyer to help us through the process. We meet with her early next week to submit all of our information and bona fides of marriage. From there, we'll see if we are as fortunate as you!

Well good luck - I hope it goes as quickly. One big frustration with the program is the 800 customer service #. Since Dallas program is soooo different than the regular way of processing, you will not find someone who actually KNOWS the answer to your question if you call them. I had to call 4 times to speak to 4 different people before they would schedule the fingerprinting appt. They don't even know their own program! Unbelievable.

And the interview is a joke by the way. The only thing they asked us was how we met, how long we've known each other for, and when we were married. We had letters from friends (4 of them) validating our relationship, a copy of our bank paper where I had been added to his account, marriage certificate, wedding photos along with the usual required stuff - tax returns, etc. We had only been married a month so we did not have much of anything to show our names together -- no lease, etc. They never asked to see anything or question that anyway. Maybe they reviewed that prior to calling us back for the interview....

Anyway - so far so good. We hope to see the CGC in the mail soon!

I am THRILLED to announce I got a call from CIS yesterday afternoon (1 day before we were scheduled to go in and apply for the work permit/travel docs) stating our case had been completed and my husbands green card is on it's way!!! YES! That was day 82 from our interview (6/4).

They did say that on day 70, if your security clearance, etc., is not back and posted, the system automatically generates the letter we got stating "your case cannot be completed within 90 days..." but that if/when it clears prior to your appt. to get the work authorization, they call or email you letting you know it did indeed clear and there is no need to go in for the work permit/travel docs. What a huge relief not to have to spend $350 more dollars and the unknown waiting time for processing.

I checked the on-line status today and it was updated with yesterday's date, but still says the same, "the results of your FP review have been submitted and processing has resumed on your case..." But according to some other bulletin boards I've checked out, people report this doesn't change until 1-2 weeks after the green card has been received.

Congratulations! It sounds in your case that the 90 day program works! I am wonder how well they are doing in all of the cases. We had our interview on August 05, 2004 so our 90 day notice is fast approaching. Did you make the work auth. appointment before or after you recevied you letter indicating that CIS wasn't going to make the schedule?

Congrats again!

Scott
