Hi everybody, I went to the immigration about 2 months ago to turned in my conditional green card. INS sent me a letter stating my conditional res application the I-751 was approved. They just stamped my pasport w/ class IR6. What's IR6 means? and when will I get the actual card? Any advice? Any of your help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Ranchomesa:

Congratuations on getting your GC!

The IR6 means that you adjusted status to Perm. resident while in the US.

Yes, you will get a GC sent out to you - I assume you gave them pictures and so on... The stamp in your passport is as good as the actual plastic GC. You can use it to cross the border, etc...

Your GC will be coming soon. It used to take 8 to 12 months, but many are saying it is closer to a month or two now...

So I suspect you will see your GC in the mail one day in the near future.

Which one was the USCIS Service Center that you filed the I-751? When did you file it and when was it approved?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Thanks for the replied. It was approved and I went to the INS center in Los Angeles on May 11 2004. The officer told me it will be in the mail 6-12 mos. They stamped my passport and only give a year. And for ****, we've been married for 5 years now and happily married so just because ur married or u have a bitter exp, u don't have a right to judge others
