I need help with immigration to Canada. I pass the test score >67. I'm living in US with expired visa. I was a student here and graduated from USA university. I went home after but couldnt find a job there then i came back from Russia with visitor visa and overstayed. I'm working as qualified auto technician. Can i still apply for Canadian immigration as a skilled worker? Do i need a lawyer and how much your services will cost?
thank you
Alex

1.No you dont need a lawyer

2.Yes its easy to get PR in Canada esp with technical degrees and esp from the U.S

Why dont you download those forms or call up the Canadian embassy in NY and ask them to mail you the application papers?

I think your idea to move to Canada makes sense if you have no hope of becoming legal here. They will welcome you there.

Yes you would need a lawayer, your current visa should be valid for at least a year, and not have overstayed your visa, i'm married to US citizen and applied for US and canadian immigration with lawyers on both so i already heard it from them if you want to take my advise or you can call one and ask for yourself, you need to be legal in the US, i too have technical degrees and enough experience and i'm fluent in both engish and french. Anyway i don't want to scare you ask a lawyer and then if there's a problem go back home and apply from there, you'll get it like everyone else said it's a little easier.

Thank you for your responses! The only problem I should clarify is I'm staying in US with expired visa , hence illegaly, I will have 10 year bar if I live. Can I still apply for Canadian residence with my current status in US???
I was thinking may be i should continue my education and apply for gradschool in Canada and apply after i graduate from Canada within.
thanks
I like USA i always dreamed to be citizen here I've learned a lot here. I become working on cars while i was a student cause my car was junky and couln't afford fixing it. Now i'm shop manager but i'm tired living with no way to get citizenship here. Everyday my family is in my mind my parents. But they depend on me.

I did not that Canadian PR would consider the status in the U.S? Am under the impression that out of status in U.S can apply for the Canadian PR.

Yes John you have to have status that is valid for at least a year, in addition it has to be business or student visas, tourist visas aren't accepted and need to go back to country of origin to apply
