108jam, In response to your question once USCIS mails a green card if it was receive it will be return once it is returned USCIS usually destroys it. You will have to go back to USCIS OFFICE in you district/city with proof of your receipts and fill out a new application to redo the process over. If it is USCIS fault they will waive the FEES if it is your fault you will have to pay again. Good Luck...Speedy...

Speedy:

The thing is...I did not even know I was actually approved (nothing in writing). The last time I went to the LA office with my birth certificate, the officer only said that I am approved and to go home and wait for card whihc I did.

Then when my EAD was about to expire, I called the INFO PASS line and ask where to send my EAD renewal application. Officer told me to send to MSC center in Chicago which I did. At the same time, I requested a trace of my Adjustment to Permanent status file.

A few mnths later, I received a letter stating that card was sent in Oct 06 and returned in Nov of 06. I never got any welcome letter or notice about the card. They then resend it June 4 07. Again, I did not receive it. I called USCIS July 8 07---they said they never got the card back either.

So today, I calle the US POstal office and complain. USPO said they will put a trace and find out where that piece of mail went.

I think the problem lies in USCIS insisting on using ONLY my birth certificate name on the Green Card instead of the name on my passport and DL. Post office probably did not recognize that name and did not deliver it. But yet its weird, I have gotten mail from my country of origin undermy birth certificate name too.....

If it has been more than 60 since the last mailing date, make an infopass appointment at your local USCIS office. Bring with you any e-mail or letter correspondence about the green card being issue, returned and issued again. Also, talk to your postal employee who delivers your mail. Let them know that there has been a problem of you not getting your mail, particularly, important mail. Good Luck.

Not necessarily. I constantly get mail of other people using my exact same address, including the previous owner; yet I constantly send them back with "return to sender." It could be USCIS or it could be USPS. But at least you contacted USPS to put a trace on some mail.

Hey Hudson & Speedy:

To update you---I still did not receive that LPR card. So I called the USPS and talked to the customer service, to the postal inspector to the consumer affairs complain department. No one was able to trace that piece of mail BUT....they took in the complain and filed the request for investigation as to someone possibily stealing important mail. Reason was---they too cannot understand why BOTH times when the LPR card was sent, I did not receive the mails. But all the notices from the same sender to my same address were received---WEIRD.

So anyways, I am re-filing form I-90 with the fees waived and also made the appointment to get passport STAMPED.
