In truth it never works out either way. Wishful thinking. Spped, if you know some guy that is paying for a house under those conditions there is one other element that your friend did not disclose. He still retains title to that house. So it isn't so bad. He will profit from the sale of it in the future.

Unless its 2008 Where the market is so bad most will be lucky not to become a Negative in Property Values!!! WHY?????

Well Davdah Not All Men are the same! Same as women and divorce. Some couple value their children more than profit.

Speed, I wasn't implying one has more value than the other. Obviously not. Each area is dealt with as a separate issue. If its children then its their well being. As for assets a person should do what they can to protect what they worked for. I don't know what you meant by the children. Was it that the guy should let the women have the house and pay for it due to the children living there? I hope not. That would be beyond stupid.

The children grow up and leave. She will remarry and they will spend the equity he paid for? The dumbbell will only have a stack of canceled checks for all his effort. Not a good bet. Not only that he will be indirectly responsible for anything that can be attributed to that house in the event of a lawsuit. Didn't think of that, did he? So, he doesn't get to live there. He has to pay for it. He recieves no benefit. He retains liability for it. Some other guy will probably spend the equity he paid for. His IQ is about 2. Please tell me this is fiction and not true.

But, as with everything. If you follow the path of sheep, you will be slaughtered. There is always a way to accomplish just about any goal. Just depends on how much effort you are willing to expend to meet that end.

BTW, that prenupt post was actually just a joke. Sorry if it rattled any cages.

Too many crooked loan companies and realtors putting people in homes they couldn't afford. Now its time to pay. Think its bad now? The fed is trying to prop up the market by not raising rates. Why? Most people got adjustable rate mortgages. Or worse, interest only adjustable rate mortgages. Guess what happens when the prime rate begins to climb? Defaults like you wouldn't believe.

I should say the forced changes. They were compelled to make more honest loans. Less loans and more houses equates to lower overall property values.
