I already had 2 interviews, both times the officers said they were satisfied and the last time I was even told that the case will be closed after the officer receives cleared fingerprints - which were expired at the time of the interview (btw I am european and my husband is hispanic). After 90 days I received another notice of appointment the reason is "I-130 application interview", without any request for additional evidence. I am puzzeled, what does it mean? My attorney says it could be anyting and I think he is just a poor attorney.

I'm not sure what it is but it could be the beginning of removal proceedings or good news.
Give us some background on the second interview. Why and what did they need for the second interview. Did they require your husband to be present? Also what does the letter ask you to bring to the interview?
We had the 1st interview after 4 months from receiving the receipt notice (5 month after we got married)- reason I-485 application interview. The officer asked my husband couple questions and asked for no documents and then let us go (she stamped my passport - pending). After couple days my husband received a letter - notice for 2nd interview - reason I-130 application interview. The interview went very well, we had a lot of supporting documentation and reference letters, lease, car insurance, taxes, bank statements, etc. (the officer took copies). We were asked about 2 questions and the officer told us she is closing the case after she receives my fingerprints (she did not stamp my passport). After almost 90 days we received notice for appointment, we are asked to bring passports and any additional documentation if we have any. The notice looks less formal then the previous 2 (does not have any statement about bringing evidence or employment letters, etc.) There is also a name of the officer we should ask for and window number. We did not have attorney with us during the previous interviews.
aia, usually they ask you to see an officer x z and so on. They never give you a window number nor a name. So, this case seems to be rather complicated.
My gut implies it could be good news however, I worry when things seem so obvious when it comes to the Uscis.
So How did it go "aia"? I Had the interview last Thursday, 01/13/07, I thought everything had gone ok. The officer wrote "pending" in my passport, saying that I would receive a letter in the mail. Two days after I got a letter for another interview, but in April 28/2008 concerning the I-130 process, next to my name there's a number that begins with an "A", that I don't know what it means. It also says that a list of the documents that I should bring is attached, but there's not such a list. Could you help me to understand what just happened? what should I expect now? If they wanted to verify any info, why an interview in a year?
jayg, the 'A' number is the number that uscis uses to identify you. It just like a SSN.
Second interviews are rare but when they happen it is not a kiss of death. However for your case I think a few mistakes have been made, for the list to be missing and the duration of the wait are very strange.
I recommend you go back into the office and ask to speak to whatever officer conducted the interview. It's very easy and painless, that will ease all your fears.
Thanx "floyd", but I'm just very confused, my husband spoke to our lawyer and he said that it's not a very good sign, though I think is not that bad, I don't know what to believe anymore...
