Got a notification letter yesterday
What should I do? consular processing or AOS?
We have a realtively low number 5XXX and I want to hear real experience?
Is this true that INS can take too long to process and the time would run out

Your number is 5000+. You will certainly get your green card. Consular processing is a bit faster. I went thru consular processing and got my green card mailed to me in two months. It might take longer than two months to receive your green card if you go thru AOS here. However, it should not cross six months. Talking with my experience. Time will not run out once your number becomes available.
