Can anyone tell me if it is possible (at all) for a person to apply to adjust his/her temporary resident status to permanent if he/she is not living in the US? I was told that you have to live here for 18 months prior as a temp res to adjust to permanent I was also told that after you have your permanency you can't leave the country for more than three years.
