I sent out my N 400 application today,with a $675 check ( ouch ) lol

Lets see what the time line will be like.

It was sent to Phoenix,AZ.

I am hoping within 6 months I should have my interview.

$675? I hope you included a tip. That might help speed things along.

the last couple of people that applied-it took them 4 months to get citizenship. Apparently, with the economy so bad less people are applying so it moves through much quicker. This was on the east coast

Thanks everyone.

I just notice something really dumb.

You know how U have to sent 2 pictures with your application, well I did that and in my pictures,i have my earings on.

Now the actually n400 application package, does not say "do not wear earings or glasses" it says how the picture has to look like, what size etc and nothing to cover your face.

But online they say, no glasses or earings.

Now my pictures are fine, and the earings are only noticeable,if u actually pay attention.

So I am wondering,is this a big deal, will they notice and if so,u think they'll let me know to take new pics and bing to the interview?

but again, the official n400 application form and the package does not say "no earings"

Just wondering

The notice will probably suggest taking photos to the interview Mine did and it was a good thing I had because it seems they lost the original ones I had sent with the application. She asked my for new ones at the interview. No biggie. Most N-400's now seem to be less than a 6 month wait. Lucky you!

I don't think the earrings will be an issue. I wore them for my passport picture and they processed my application with no problems. They just don't want you to wear anything that will disguise your appearance in any way. I don't think earrings fall into that category.

'no earings' requirements maybe only implied though, but a requireemnt just as well.

Update,
one week after I sent in my application,my check was cashed exactly a week later.Which was yesterday.

So what should I expect in the mail in the next few days? a receipt/mail? or my bio appointment letter?

You should get within the next 2 weeks or so an NOA for receipt of the N-400 and separately a Biometric appt letter. Both arrived same day in my case about 2 weeks after they cashed the check.
