When you arrive, yes. But when you leave, the airline just checks your passport and then you get into the usual procedure.

In some countries when you leave for USA you have to give two sets of photocopies of your passport and US Visa to the immigration personel of that country, which send one copy to the US officials at the airport.

Its checked againt the immigration database and the FBI no-fly database for terrorists.

Tmaggs: Simply because you were able to hoodwink USCIS into believing that your asylum claim was genuine does NOT mean that you can continue to hoodwink them. I hope that you enjoy your visit to your country of origin...the very country from which you claimed to have a credible fear of persecution...and, I hope that you're deported back there upon your attempt to reenter the United States.

When you enter the US you declare where you have been.

So it does not matter for these purposes.
