My wife still did not receive gc yet.
She was approved in dec 10, 2007.
Card production ordered was shown in the online status, but it immediately changed to welcome notice was sent. Since then, nothing is changed.
We only received approval notice in the mail.
We mailed out I90 two times, we did not get any receipts or anything.
We made an infopass 3 weeks ago.
IO said the system has not been updated yet,
she told us to wait for 3 weeks, we should receive it in the mail.
she said she could not stamp her passport yet.
We still did not receive gc until now.
Anyone has this experience?

Hi Alex05:

This is nothing new.
I was approved in June 06 and never did recievd that Welcome Letter or Card. In fact I did not know that I was approved until I requested a status seacrh in March 07. It was then that I learnt that I was already approved. Keep in mind I did not move in the last 10 yrs.

Several phone calls later to the USCIS, I was told that they will re-mail the card. That was June 07. Waited and waited and had everyone who would be handling the mail (from Post Office down to the lady who distributes the mail) look out for that piece of mail. Till today, there is NO SIGHT of it at all.

Same like yourself, I called and went to the local USCIS office via Infopass numberous times. They will not STAMP my passport, they will not give me any evidence of approval/ status. Also sent in a few I 90--no receipt, no reply and in fact, they cliam they never received anything I-90 filings from me, until this last one which I sent with RETURN RECEIPT AND SIGNATURE REQUEST. Couple of weeks after that certified mailing, I got a letter saying my I 90 request (without the fee cos I never did received that original one) is denied. That their records showed that a card was mailed June 4, 07 and it was never returned. Therefore, if I want a replacement card, I must go online, refile that I90 and PAY that filing fee which totals $370.

Only then will I get a RECEIPT and be able to trace that new card when it is re-sent. Also was told by the local USCIS office, if you have that receipt number (and you can only get that IF YOU PAY), we can trace it in the system and be able to STAMP you passport.

So my friend, the key is TO PAY. No money no card---simple as that was the message that I got after several months of running a round.

thanks, 108jam.
did your online status show the card has been mailed? if it did, that means the card was lost.
my wife's case status never showed card has been mailed and the immigration officer said it has never been updated.
i've thought to file I90 and pay $370 to request a replacement card but i wanna try one more time to make infopass.
how long did you get the replacement card after you filed it?

HI alex05:

Online status showed that the card was mailed on June 4, 07 and it has not changed since. Everytime I called to talk to a supervisor (i.e an immigration officer, they will tell me---OH...looks like you never got your card in the first place, you can file without paying)....

I have done that. It is until this past weekend that I got a letter that basically---"PAY or NO CARD". I have not yet paid for the filing---will probably do that thi sweek after I take care of my taxes first.

So I really cannot tell you how long that will take.

When I reported the lost card/ mail to the general postal inspector, they told me that sometimes those cards get stolen BEFORE the ever left the printer's door.... so go figure where our cards are.....

Good luck.

We called customer service and finally there was someone wanted to help us. It took less than 1 week to update it and mail the card.

I never received my green card either, been trying to get it since last August when they said they mailed it. I contacted my local congressman and he tried twice over the last 5 months to get it for me, no luck, same answer both times, must pay the fee again. How can this be allowed? THey don't track the envelope and they just say that it was meailed to me. I want proof that they actually mailed it, although it is their responsibility to make sure I receive the card since I paid them the fee, not the postal service. If they had tracked the envelope, we would know who is at fault. As it stands, I don't know who lost it and I'm the one who paid. This is ridiculous. I want to sue the Dept. Anyone have any idea what I can do to move forward with a lawsuit?

I know you probably think I'm crazy but this happens to a lot of people and it will continue unless someone does something to stop it.
