I was watching CNN: they actually surveyed women, that where disappointed that Hillary didn't get the VP spot and asked whether they would vote for McCain now that he has a woman on the ticket. 80% said: absolutely not! On MSNBC, they had one of the women that is heading the PUMA (Party Unity My A.s.s.)movement which is operating out of Atlanta, and she said that yes, they will vote for McCain just because of the woman on the ticket. So, I guess the overall former supporters of Hillary are now split.
At this point, I really wonder whether it was a wise move by McCain.

4now, if this were like any other election Ridge would have been given much more consideration than Palin. He would have been good for solidarity in the rust belt states. Again, if it were needed. This is more about reeling in disenchanted Hillary supporters.
In reality the VP is more of a shadow than anything else. Not much in the way of real importance This was a symbolic slap for Obama. And he got spanked hard!
You voted democrat. This country is not worth sneaking into any more.

Palin has lot more credentials than Obama-Biden ticket. Lets see, she has executive experience in running a government which clearly Obama and Biden doesn't. She has dealt with budget, which clearly Obama and Biden haven't. She brought swift changes to ethics in her state, which by the way Obama and Biden are searching for the meaning of ethics. Palin is pioneer while Obama and Biden are still stuck on the word Change. Palin is proven reformer while Obama and Biden still see above sentence. Palin is proven rising star, Obama is all talk. Talk is cheap. Palin has kicked Dems a s s really bad, Obama is weak and cannot take the challenge of debate against Mc Cain.

Try reading this article which states that she is open to drilling but spars with Big Oil companies.
The reason is something called the Alaskan Permanent Dividend Fund, which every Alaskan resident receives based on how much oil is pumped out of the ground. It was established in 1982 under Gov Bill Sheffield, a Democrat. (FYI Only).
She is very articulate about drilling in Alaska, the environmental concerns, and how corporate lobbyists work and their interests. She does have some interesting ideas about domestic energy policy that includes oil. So, her nomination was expected.
BTW, the only other candidate that would be an excellent choice would have been Sen Kay Bailey Hutchinson.

Dear Jasmin, it's the first time after many many months that I agree with you. After all, you're not as dumb as I thought. I am sorry you're not going to be able to use the 'inexperience' meme anymore. Awww....
Anyway, it's a joke right? A breastfeeding woman for VP and an old senile drooling man for president? Ewwwww......
Surprise over, McCain wants a second lapel flower (after Cindy) to stand quietly behind him... Wait till he gets to know her a little bit more. She seems like her own woman. Lol. Trouble?
Now we can relax dear dems. It's obvious reps have no plan to change the country in any real way. It's all about theatrics instead of real agenda, and taking on real issues (and there are many, quite pressing btw). If McCain really thinks Hillary was so popular is because she's a woman? He's going to be disappointed. Hillary has so much support because she's Hillary Rodham Clinton. Same goes for Obama. It's not because he's black. It's because he's Barack Obama. Because he has a real plan, and real agenda to pull the country out of the quagmire. What does Sarah Palin contribute to the country? What does she bring to the table? Nothing whatsoever, and and neither does McCain, and neither does the republican party. Sadly. McCain/Palin is a joke of a ticket, just the same as the whole republican party. It's weak, and stands for nothing real. Offers nothing, brings nothing, solves nothing.
And a final remark. I will BET Romney's going to vote for Obama. He's pissed big time, and so is his family, friends, and a large part of the republican party. McCain may gain 60 members of PUMA (yes, there are that many of them), but will lose hundreds of thousands of republicans who are not racists.
I don't know how to ask this, but if I don't do that, who will?
Does anyone really can imagine that if McCain, as the president has a stroke, or a heart attack, and dies during his tenure...(more than likely) that a Sarah Palin becomes the President of the United States???
When someone is as old as McCain (btw happy birthday John), and is the presidential candidate, shouldn't he think of his country and consider someone who could actually lead the country in case something happens to him? So much for putting your country first...
McCain's only agenda is his own ambition to become the president.
Some things you didn't know about Sarah Palin by smintheus Fri Aug 29, 2008 at 05:04:30 PM PDT
Sarah Palin was had political experience only as a small town mayor until less than two years ago. What we don't know about her could fill a book. Here are a few things we're learning about Palin.
Sarah Palin left the finances of her town Wasilla in tatters when she moved on in 2002 (h/t xgz). She wanted a legacy as mayor, it seems, and pushed hard for the town to build a hyper-expensive sports complex. But Palin screwed the process up badly. Instead of buying the land for the complex when it was offered, her administration allowed a developer named Gary Lundgren to snap it up. Then Wasilla tried to seize the land from Lundgren through eminent domain. In the end, what with court costs Wasilla paid at least $ 1.7 million for land it could have bought for less than one tenth that sum - if the purchase had been handled properly. For this incompetence, Wasilla is still paying a steep price: higher taxes and cutbacks in services. In other words Palin is about as efficient as Michael Brown, onetime head of FEMA.
Diarist loyalson, a resident of Wasilla, has more to say about the damage Palin did to his town while she was mayor.
On the single most debated issue of our times, the Iraq war, Sarah Palin similarly was out to lunch until as recently as last spring. Shortly after becoming governor, she was asked her views on the surge (h/t LizzyPop):
Alaska Business Monthly: We've lost a lot of Alaska's military members to the war in Iraq. How do you feel about sending more troops into battle, as President Bush is suggesting?
Palin: I've been so focused on state government, I haven't really focused much on the war in Iraq. I heard on the news about the new deployments, and while I support our president, Condoleezza Rice and the administration, I want to know that we have an exit plan in place; I want assurances that we are doing all we can to keep our troops safe. Every life lost is such a tragedy.
John McCain would have us believe that Iraq is the central battle in the war on terror, and yet he selects as his running mate somebody who was paying almost no attention to the Iraq war for 4 long years after the invasion.
So what was Palin focused on?
Alaska Business Monthly: It's extremely early to ask this, but when your tenure as governor is over, what would you like to have accomplished? How would you like to be remembered?
Palin: I want people to remember me as having always conducted the state's business in an upright and honest manner. I want them to understand that I put Alaska first in every decision I made.
Try to square that with the troopergate scandal, in which Palin allegedly misused her power as governor by bringing inappropriate pressure for two employees to be fired. What's perhaps most interesting is that Palin appears to have begun misusing power almost as soon as she got any real power.
Speaking of inconsistencies, earlier this month Palin praised Barack Obama's energy plan (h/t Excelscior1). Here is the cached version of the press release that had been posted at the Governor's website. The original document has been scrubbed sometime during the last day (since Aug. 28). I wonder if that could have anything to do with McCain's selection of Sarah Palin as his running mate?
That North Pole is one of the states in the union and within United States, if u lack knowledge on this country. and that north pole is the most energy producer in the union.
actually I gave a hint 4Now got it in case u missed the word OIL

IP don't waste your time..these repub groupie will give you a headache! lol too lame!
Talk to other more sane Reps.
You're right olalala. It's become an irrelevant venue, considering that the campaign's basically over. I didn't expect it to end so soon, just two months before the actual voting day.
There is nothing more to say, just enjoy Obama and watch his magnificent historical nomination speech again. And I'll see him on Monday. Can't wait! I'll try and post some photos and videos later on, also from the Detroit Joe Louis Arena from June 16th I took.
Be nervous, very nervous. We will have our oil, women vote, and the presidency. Her plan to give the citizens of her state the money that comes from their own state was brilliant. It belongs to the people. Not the fat lazy democrates who would just waste it. Good job for looking out for the people she governs.
If she brings that to DC we may all benefit. Again McCain, good choice.
You voted democrat. This country is not worth sneaking into any more.
