Davdah, I don't consider those my people either. Far from it!
Racism in Germany, I wouldn't really be able to get into in depth about, because I haven't been there in so long. I do follow up with news and magazines and stuff, and I think I can say with confidence that every time it rears its ugly head, its joked to death immediatly. There is too much opposition. People are just to smart and moreover, the world is getting smaller and smaller (global economy). Neo-Nazis are considered small fringe groups (hoodlums)like what the KKK is regarded here and they will never gain hold. People in Germany are actually fighting them openly just like they do it here when KKK/Neo-Nazis demonstrate. People are just to smart and mundane thinking to be separated and harbour negativities of that sort anymore.
We really do have more in common than we have not.
Maybe Germany has to have a Jewish Chancellor/President to remove all doubt.

McCain has already proven his loyalty to this country. No doubts there at all. I don't agree with all of his policies but at least I know what he stands for. He may not be as well polished as Obama but he leans more towards being honest. Obama's true character is still hidden from public view. The fact he is hiding it makes apparent its something he doesn't want the American public to know.
If anyone is a racist its you. Your hysterical badgering of anyone that disagrees one iota with your narrow perception of the world bares out that fact plain as day. When McCain wins are you staying? Or are you going to leave as you promised?
Hi Davdah,
I checked that Youtube you posted. This was a topic started when this thread was new and somebody posted a still shot of that Youtube you posted. I also saw the Youtube that Kollerkrot posted where Barack is placing his hand over the chest.
Just curious, is there an American tradition about placing one's hand on one's chest when the national anthem is being sung? In my first home country, all politicians, no exceptions, place their hands on the chest during national anthem.
Do all the good you can, in all the ways you can, as long as ever you can.
Koller, I wasn't thinking about the ornamental groups like the kkk or the neo-nazis. Those are the overt window dressing groups. I'm talking about the overall cultural dynamics of the populace in a country. For example. In some eastern countries it is not illegal but socially looked down upon to marry outside your race. In others it can be considered a prize if you marry the right one. Or a negative stigma if the wrong one. I won't elaborate on which countries or what is considered a prize or not. But I would venture a guess several on this board know exactly what I'm talking about. Is there any reason other than covert cultural attitudes that prevent all countries from being the mirror image of this one? Maybe they don't speak it out loud but it exists far more pronounced in their thoughts.
You voted democrat. This country is not worth sneaking into any more.

Hi Kollerkrot,
I agree with you, the notion of the Germans being anti-Jews is so antiquated (just because of the actions of one past president).
I'm glad to hear you say that you do have more in common than you realize. And we can all agree to disagree, respecting each other's convictions.
I see you've got a new avatar!

That conscience will tell them there is something untrustworthy about obama.
Something untrustworthy? What could it be Davdah? If he was a white guy and he wouldn't wear the flagpin, and would not denounce Hagee, would you say the same thing: SOMETHING UNTRUSTWORTHY?
Isn't that FEARMONGERING? Yes it is. It is exactly fearmongering. You don't really believe not wearing a flagpin is a big deal, or that he didn't put his hand over his heart in that one second the photo was taken. If you were not a racist, you would assume he just forgot, and he does put his hand over his heart on all the other occasions.
Kollerkrot, I am not going to argue with a racist. There is no doubt in my mind knowing Davdah throughout this time that he IS a racist. I've proven to 4now and Jasmin that they were racists, and so is Davdah.I can see right through this guy. There is no other reason for anybody in this country not to vote for Barack unless they are racists. No reason. Mc Cain is the bad guy. I will say more: he is the evil one. The choice between McCain and Obama is like a choice between evil and good. It's as plain as that.
Tsk Tsk Lperson
Oh please do show where you proved posters 4now and jasmin that we are racists Oh you mean becuase we do not support Obama? Oh that is the reason.. Now you would have to be the most stupid person in the world to believe that everybody that does not support Obama becuase he is bi-racial. yes.. he is equally as much white as he is african iperson.
But again.. just becuase you write a lie... it doesnt make it real.. so... in the words of whitney Houston to Barbara walters...

Yes, it is considered the standard form of respect for all persons during the national anthem. Not just politicians, everyone. But they above all should set the example for decency and respect for this country. The fact he didn't raised a big red flag in my mind.

Btw, I hope you and Brit meet on our hang-out thread - you both will have a blask talking about planes. Most of them, Sprint, Mike, CM, Speed, Jake, talk there at night, Proud joins too every now and then.

I consider this most fastidious! The man is a U.S. Senator, he is working his brain every day to seek solutions to better the country, which seems to be completely shoved under the rug, but he is held hostage for something petty like that. I think it is stupid! Oh, and I just saw a post somewhere else, that called him anti-American. How can anyone call a duly sworn in U.S. Senator anti-American?

Yes, I know there are countries like that, but it is exactly these, that are by modern standards looked down on, because of their backward ways. Such countries are not progessive by today's standards but bogged down by traditions that have essentially become useless. People are afraid of change that's what causes many problems today. They feel more comfortable by holding on to what they know.
Change is the only constant! This is how God wants it, and that's why he keeps changing everything. The post that I am writing - by the time you get it, it'll be old!
As far as racism (the covert version you speak of above), I think it is all tight into what I spoke of above. You have to realize, we used to be surounded by borders. I remember back in Europe, little townships, maybe 10-15 miles apart, would frown if young couples would find each other and marry. Depending on where the couple settled, one of them would be looked at as a foreigner/outsider in one of the townships. This is stuff that I learned from my mom, sitting around the kitchen table telling me stuff. So that must have been around 1900s.
Mighty - how far we have come!

These people were duly sworn and held positions of substantial importance.

True, like the computer your typing it on. It was out of date the moment you turned it on for the first time. Not just the far-eastern countries. Many in South America and judging by the ethnic makeup in Europe its still alive and well there too. Its just kept under a politically correct veil. In my never to be humble opinion I beleive its a part of the natural evolution of this worlds cultures. Some come around quicker than others. At some point we'll all meet in the middle.
