Just got back from the movie. Watching it, the absence of a serious tone was prevalent throughout. There were numerous moments of uncontrolled audience laughter. Filled with innuendo, the usual expected parade of hapless victims, parody, and of course Moore's own grandstanding made it a hoot.
I was expecting a serious attack on this country's greatest contribution to the world. Instead, we were treated to some well placed sarcasm and humor. Even during those moments intended to garner sympathy the shallowness of it's justification gave way to the more obvious and plentiful comedic antics.
Glad to know the audience I shared this viewing with didn't fall prey to the drumbeat of socialists who point to this movie's message as being serious. It is what it is, finding humor in and based on troubled times.
The moment you capitulate to lawlessness you've lost your civility.
