People like you Davdah or S12 sit in your red neck little holes scared and paranoid of every foreigner with an accent. You read some news and interpret them your own way bourne out of paranoia. Half of this stuff is largely exaggerated in your limited imagination and you take it as truth. You're paranoid and delusional little phobes repeating same ol mantra over and over until you're convinced yourself that it's the reality.
You're both grotesque personalities, laughable and not to be taken seriously by any reader of this forum.
You don't even know how you come out with your narrow-minded rants.

Needhelp, I doubt your old enough to call me son. Anyhow, the whole thing was to illustrate a point. I doubt most here are the incinderary type. I hope not. However, those incidents are not that infrequent or limited to just a few fringe elements. Its widespread and getting a stronger foothold. Maybe your hispanic neighbor isn't roasting old glory on the weekend. But, if put on the spot and having to choose between protecting this country's honor or helping a compadre break our laws. What will they do? Race comes into play. If you live in an area dominated by Mexicans you would surely have seen it at least a few times.

For all the debating about the so called immigration mess it all comes down to people breaking the law. Its gotten muddied into a propaganda issue of compassion and laying blame on this country for not being compassionate enough. That isn't the issue at all. The laws don't need to be changed. They just need to be respected and obeyed. Its just that simple.

Ipeso, I don't know what your talking about. Redneck? Seeing reality, absolutely. You really think I am paranoid of foreigners? Lets see. At my last wedding it was more like an international convention with reps from every continent. Most of the women I have been with were from other countries. My last wife was from Mexico. You know what else. She agrees with me. She says herself that most of the people who jump the border were losers in Mexico which is why they come here. That our Gov is too soft and keeps giving them more and more incentives to keep coming and abusing our country. That we are too blind to the truth that all they want to do is use us. She said it, not me. Where do you think I learned this from?

In your case I don't have an issue since you didn't come here with the intent of committing fraud or abusing our good natured system, did you? You did get yourself into a bind with the rules. But our system is set up to deal with those kinds of circumstances. The waivers are there for legitimate cases and after review will be granted. Again, if legitimate. But, just because you had a good reason doesn't mean everyone else does. You learned English. You probably have an honest job. You assimilated. There in is the truth of the matter. You did, the people I rant against refuse.

Hudson, I should not comment since you always seem to have a problem with reading what people write before banging away on the keyboard. The dirtball was 2 months behind on the rent. It isn't too much to ask to verify status if a person is suspect of being illegal. I checked already. Since I am being held to the standard of being liable for renting to an illegal I have the 'responsibility' to verify status. Read the laws before saying anything. Before commenting on what any American general says don't write it in the same paragraph as your anti-American one world Gov. propaganda..

Davdah,
The only one who has a problem with reading comprehension is you and you alone. You cannot blame the ex wives, your current wife, the alignment of the sun to Mars to Saturn, or anything else. (This is sarcasm Davdah)

I explicitly responded to the content in the posts that you provided and nothing else. No where did you mention in the posts you provided that the person was behind, but what part of "Although there is no excuse for the individual to take property owned by the complex..." that you did not understand? Your premise in the two responses with the former tenant is you don't want to rent to a group of people you deem inhumane, worthless, undesirable, etc. This violates equal protection under the law. RN and I have given you what the law says, not the way you think it should be interpreted.

so, you had a bad experience, or maybe a few, with some tenants. The remedy is either increase the credit score, require from any future tenant first and last month, or increased processing fees, etc. But the application of such must apply to everyone, not to the ones whom you deem as undesirable or don't want to rent. This is what RN and I have attempted to tell you, but you don't listen, do you?

Nor do you have a responsibility to verify status. You are not a representative of the United States Government nor are you a designated federal agency to act in such accord. This is a a direct violation of federal law, Davdah. There is no if, and or butt on this.

What you can do, if you have not done so already, is file a criminal complaint with the SAPD or appropriate local law enforcement agency. You can also bill the the stolen items to the next of kin on the rental application and submit it to the credit bureaus. But again, it is the risk you take when renting whether the person was a young college student, elderly couple, or anyone else. That is why there is landlord insurance Davdah.

Davdah,
It is much more complicated than simply "enforcing the rules." Immigration laws are complicated, ambiguous, and full of exceptions. Waiting times for even some of the simplest processes are atrocious, multiple federal agencies, each with different agendas, interpretations, and enforcement, do not apply said immigration laws with continuity or equitable fairness. Additionally, choices placed upon immigrants cannot be expected with the relative same assuredness of USC if the same situation applies. And because of the increased enforcement, placing unjustified blame on immigrants, legal or illegal, and xenophobia and nativism, employers are now finding it easier to move the job overseas, and thus compete internationally, then to hire disruptive influences in this country. We have no one but us pchickens] to blame.

As far as the dirtball goes. I can not bill his next of kin. They are not responsible. I can't hit their credit reports either. I'd really get into a lot of trouble for that without a judgment. Not that I could even get one. No judge would award that. I can't touch the credit report of the dirtball either. Why? It wasn't his SSN. It wouldn't be fair to penalize the other tenants because of him either. So the best remedy is to prevent it from happening any more. Kind of like securing our borders. I'm sure the other tenants will appreciate not saddling the extra cost. Or do you think I should ask them for their opinion?

It is the law of the land to not aid, harbor etc. illegal aliens. So you say that since I'm not a federal agent I can ignore that law? I don't think so. Why do people go to jail for giving them rides when they are hitch hiking? A passing motorist isn't a cop. What is the difference? I think we all have a civic duty to obey the laws or did I miss something?

Catholic priests urge immigration reform

By Margaret Ramirez | Tribune religion reporter
December 19, 2007

Responding to what they perceive as anti-immigrant rhetoric from presidential candidates, dozens of Roman Catholic priests on Tuesday used the religious message of Advent to express support for immigrants and call for legislative reform.

The priests, most of whom lead congregations of Latino or Polish immigrants, gathered at Holy Name Cathedral to deliver a pastoral message and explain how the Catholic Church is responding to a recent rise in arrests and deportations. Similar events took place in the dioceses of Los Angeles; San Antonio; San Jose, Calif.; Trenton, N.J.; and Newark, N.J.

"We are deeply and profoundly troubled by the almost daily harsh and demeaning anti-immigrant rhetoric of media and press pundits," said Rev. Marco Mercado, pastor of Good Shepherd church in Chicago. "For these reasons, we stand in solidarity with our undocumented brothers and sisters to have hope and draw strength in this season when family unity and family love is so precious."

With the defeat of the comprehensive immigration reform bill this year, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has stepped up enforcement and raids. Immigration has also become a flash point in the presidential campaign, with candidates in both parties debating border protection and driver's licenses for illegal immigrants.

Rev. Larry Dowling, pastor of Chicago's St. Agatha church, said the debate prompted the priests to speak out.

"There are too many Americans today who are ignorant of the real issues and are buying into the negative rhetoric," he said. "We need to stand up in faith against the racism and negativity that's occurring today."

Though the Catholic Church has long supported immigrants, the nation's bishops took a more active role in 2005 when they launched the Catholic Campaign for Immigration Reform. Shortly after, more than 200 Chicago priests formed Priests for Justice for Immigrants.

The priests said Advent, the four-week period leading to the celebration of Christ's birth, allows for a contemporary meditation on immigrants. As parishioners reflect on the Holy Family's struggle to find shelter, the group said, they should also pray for families ripped apart by deportations.

Performing the ritual lighting of the Advent wreath, the priests offered prayers for separated families and for children of illegal immigrants.

Adriana Velasco-Silva, 11, a 6th grader at St. Pius V School, lit the first candle in memory of her mother, Herminia Silva, who was poisoned by a cactus plant while crossing the border in August 2006. Silva was rushed to Stroger Hospital, and doctors amputated her leg to save her, but she died hours later, Adriana's father said.

Rev. Brendan Curran of St. Pius V said her case illustrates the need for legislation to facilitate family reunification.

"The father was here already and the family wanted to be together," Curran said. "So, this is what happens, and it's going to keep happening until we get some kind of formal process for reunification."

Starting next month, priests will begin conducting Know Your Rights sessions in many of the region's immigrant parishes, said Rev. Donald Nevins of St. Francis of Assisi Church. Information would include advice about how to respond in a raid by government officials.

Dowling said he hoped more pastors would preach about immigration from the pulpit. Though some parishes have expressed ambivalence, he said support for immigrants is consistent with church teaching.

"We have to ask ourselves: Are we one church?" he said. "Do we truly believe that as Catholics we uphold the dignity of people who are being repressed?"

As for the second Hudson post. The various agencies are fluid because the circumstances vary case by case. It works within reason as long as you cooperate and do what your supposed to. Not perfect but its a lot better than what anyone else has.

Moving jobs overseas because of it? Only the ones Americans don't want I bet. Where is Swift Meats going to get its chickens plucked now? Maybe they should start thinking about paying a real American a decent wage. Add to that a little innovation to make the process more efficient and everybody wins.

That is absolutely false. I used to work for a firm who opted to outsource their IT related support to a company in India. Hundreds of folks (who wanted and needed their jobs) lost their jobs.

As for picking fruit or plucking chickens, what fair wage would entice you to accept those positions, Davdah?

A fair wage in a free market system is what ever is agreeable to the worker and employer. What a chicken plucker makes would depend on the area and availability of workers at that skill level. Were you asking what it would take to get me to do it? The knowledge to know that I can discover all the operations of the businesss. That way I could open one up across the street.

I do agree with you on the outsourcing though. From a business perspective it may seem like a good idea or perhaps it was out of necessity. If the competitors were under bidding them they may have had no choice. But, like a babysitter who is an outsourced mother, it isn't as good.

Actually I was being sarcastic about the jobs Americans didn't want comment.

You are full of krap Davdah and it shows. We're showing you that you are wrong on all accounts and you lack knowledge on all fronts you try to look as if you know something.
The fact is you know nothing about immigration law, and immigrants. You're better off bowing out nicely out of this forum to avoid further ridicule and shame.
You're ignored on my list, as it is a waste of time for me to respond to your ridiculous entries.

Illegals Rob Legal Residents of Safety, Dignity
By Andre Hollings
Black or White

Imagine going south on San Fernando Road at 7:30 a.m. and seeing hordes of men crowd the narrow roadside to the point where you cannot safely drive in the far right lane though you must make a right turn. Then your agitation at having to bypass that right turn is compounded because traffic has come to a near stop due to a couple of trucks, in that far right lane, stopping so the drivers can talk to the men swarming the roadside.

Now, continuing this clearly unthinkable scenario for Santa Clarita residents, imagine driving, some time later, northbound on San Fernando Road, looking to your left and being flabbergasted because you see a guy, only feet away from clusters of other men stationed at the edge of the roadside, with his back turned but obviously urinating in broad, open daylight.

Finally, in this series of unfathomable Santa Clarita events, picture a mom turning right onto 14th Street from San Fernando as she takes her daughter to soccer practice. She notices that her son is not securely fastened into his car seat so she pulls over, on 14th Street, to secure her little one in his seat. Yet once pulled over, her car is swarmed on both sides by a mass of yelling men. Tell me, what would the reaction of her young children be? Let alone the reaction of the mom?

Those "unthinkable" Santa Clarita scenarios are not so unimaginable. In fact, they’re not even infrequent. What is unimaginable is getting any help from our city government in solving the rapidly growing illegal immigrant predicament confronting our city.

Case in point, contact City Hall about the above-mentioned distresses. The gist of what you will be told is that all of the said problems, and others spawned by illegal aliens infesting Santa Clarita, falls under federal jurisdiction, not local. That means, essentially, that Santa Clarita's mayor, our local Sheriff’s Station, the City Council, the chamber of commerce and so on are powerless to help in solving this brush fire. The impotence, or negligence, of our local government has fathered Santa Clarita’s own sanctuary city — Newhall — a fact that everyone knows but that no one wants to acknowledge. That cradle for Illegal aliens has nurtured social and economic dangers for Santa Clarita residents. Dangers that have been left to spread like wildfire.

As opposed to safety and comfort for residents living in Stevenson Ranch or Valencia, an increasing number of Newhall residents have been left without the peace of mind cherished by their neighbors. Car burglaries and home break-ins are becoming the expectation for many law-abiding Newhall residents. Yet even for those who have not been violated by having their laptops, car radios, iPODs or jewelry stolen, there is a certain sense of all-but-looming danger that demands that many wives forgo the early morning jog or the evening walk with the little one in the stroller.

Imagine the feeling that would grip any mom as she pushes the stroller on Newhall Avenue past a collection of staring, whispering men, who suddenly make a mad dash for a stopped landscaping company truck just 15 feet in front of her. These are not scare tactics, Santa Clarita residents. This is reality come home. Those dangers may not long be avoided by students attending Newhall Elementary School on Walnut Street nor those attending William S. Hart High School on Newhall Avenue. Remember the gang violence at Hart High earlier this year? I wonder if its roots can, at all, be traced to elements sheltered by the City Council in Newhall? Just a question.

The economic dangers of illegal immigrants flooding our community are flagrantly obvious also. Best seen in job losses. A popular local barbecue and grill eatery located quite close to Newhall told one applicant that, though he was not applying for management, he must speak fluent Spanish to work there because the bus boys and cooks all speak Spanish as their primary language. Now this is not an establishment that specializes in Spanish nor Mexican foods. Nor was that language request an expressed requirement on the job application. And the restaurant is located in a heavily white neighborhood. What gives? A well-qualified college student who simply wanted to work while in college didn’t meet an un-listed language “requirement”? Talk about rank hypocrisy and bias.

Another individual was told that he could not work at a popular local car wash on Lyons Avenue because nearly all of the employees spoke Spanish as their primary language. Once again, that “requirement” was not listed on the job application, and it was not a management position that was being sought. These two examples do not stand alone in Santa Clarita. Yet they do stand as examples of the many businesses in our community that prize the cheapness — with regard to payroll tax, wages paid, and so forth — of the labor that goes hand-in-hand with illegal immigration.

I say “many businesses” because we all recall the several Santa Clarita businesses that were closed during the height of the immigration marches in Los Angeles in the spring of this year. Local construction and landscaping companies were shut down during that time, as were local restaurants. One particular fast food restaurant, located on Magic Mountain Parkway, has become an employment haven for illegals. I finally drew that conclusion when the establishment had to shut down due to lack of workers on the day of the major immigration march in Los Angeles.

When business leaders cleave to such cheap labor, they cheat hard-working immigrants, shrink the revenue that helps to refurbish our city’s infrastructure, and put law-abiding residents in danger of deficient landscaping and construction labor when those business owners hire day laborers who are void of proper training and basic English-speaking skills.

Instead of passing legislation that would require any business that wishes to contract with Santa Clarita to verify that its employees are legal immigrants or are in the process of becoming legal, the mayor's office, the chamber, and the City Council have yet to properly address employers who wantonly hire illegals. Nor has our local government properly dealt with landlords who knowingly allow illegal aliens to crowd into residences that are not large enough to properly fit all the “renters.” Popular wisdom says that selfish ambition and greed are to blame for our local government’s lack of oversight and law enforcement. What Santa Clarita needs is a peaceful, intelligent, and practical grassroots movement because — in our case — the best government is not the most local government.

Andre Hollings is a Santa Clarita resident. His column reflects his own views, not necessarily those of The Signal.

Illegal Aliens' Unstoppable
Third World Crime Wave In US
By Frosty Wooldridge
2-1-4

Last summer, in Boulder, Colorado, eight illegal aliens raped eight American women. The aliens fled back to Mexico. One was caught. In a nearby city of Longmont, a used car dealer was driven out of business because he suffered so much theft from his lot that he bankrupted. An illegal alien killed a California cop, John Marsh, last year. Robberies and break-ins have become the norm in California. They've become the pattern in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and dozens of other states. But the sobering realities concerning these crimes point to one fact--they are illegal aliens. They are importing themselves into this country with a vengeance. They are deadly, pernicious and organized. They represent the worst of what is common in the Third World.

In her recent scathing report, 'THE ILLEGAL ALIEN CRIME WAVE' by brilliant investigative reporter, Heather MacDonald, our country is being assaulted by a crime wave that grows steadily and viciously.

A full 95% of all outstanding warrants for homicide, which totaled 1,500 last year in Los Angeles, pointed to illegal aliens. Soberingly, two thirds of all fugitive felony warrants, totaling a horrifying 17,000, were for illegal aliens. To make matters worse, in 1995 a report showed that 60% of the 20,000-strong 18th Street gang in southern California was composed of illegal aliens. That gang collaborates with the Mexican Mafia on drug distribution schemes, extortion and drive-by assassinations. They commit assault and robberies every day of the week. A night of crime to them is like a day of work for American citizens.

How did it come about and why is it spreading? In 1979, Los Angeles Police Department Chief Daryl Gates enacted Special Order 40. Astoundingly, as if insanity took the front row seat in their minds, leaders of dozens of cities from San Francisco to Miami and New York City adopted this special order. This law prohibits police officers from arresting illegal aliens. In reality, it?s a carte blanche invitation for crime to grow in our country, putting citizens at risk for their lives.

"If I see a deportee from the Mara Salvatrucha prison in El Salvador crossing the street in LA, I can't touch him," said a Los Angeles police officer. "I can't arrest him for an immigration felony."

Boulder, Colorado practices the same 'sanctuary' policy for illegal aliens. The mayor of the city openly encourages illegal aliens by making sure the police chief does not arrest illegals. Some of Boulder's immigration lawyers were so bold as to offer publicly announced classes for illegal aliens on how to avoid arrest, detention and deportation by immigration agents. The result in that town shows a tripling of the illegal alien population as well as jobs taken away from citizens and the eight violent rapes.

Not far away in Denver last week, an illegal alien, Javier Cruz-Caballero, purposely ran down police officer, Robert Bryant, while the officer operated a radar gun in a school walk zone. Witnesses saw the Mexican national rev up his engine while taking dead-aim at the officer. Bryant flew 30 feet through the air while suffering a broken leg and head lacerations. He could have easily been killed.

At a greater level, New York's Mayor Bloomberg supports illegal alien crime by maintaining a 'sanctuary policy' in that city. Last year, four illegals raped and killed a New York jogger. That crime was one of thousands of crimes committed by illegal aliens who are protected from the law. But more horrific in impact of this loss of the rule-of-law, former Mayor Guiliana practiced Special Order 40. Several illegal aliens protected by the Order participated in 9/11. The death toll reached 2,800, but the impact on our nation reverberates today. Yet, Special Order 40 continues full force in protecting the estimated 10 million illegal aliens in our country.

However, thousands of them are killing, raping, robbing and driving illegally in our country. Over 400,000 deportees continue walking around free in our country. The ones that commit crimes and are caught make up a full 29% of our prison populations. They cost American taxpayers nearly $1 billion annually to feed, house and care for them in our prisons. And, yet, Special Order 40, continues as if it was a fig leaf for welcoming hardened alien criminals.

These examples of illegal immigrant crime depict a growing menace to our functioning society. While a sleepy American public watches idly and a Congress refuses to enforce our borders while mayors adopt the 'sanctuary policy', we citizens receive an average of 2,200 illegals every 24 hours, seven days a week, 365 days
