Don't evade the issue. We're talking about a Black running for US President. This can only possible in the next century when the minorities shall outnumber whites.

Personally, I do not care what the color of the skin is, I only care what is in their political intentions are. As a caucasian married to an Asian, I live in an intercultural marriage. I find your post more apartheid and racist than someone posting from the KKK or Stormfront.

My wife is from the People's Republic of China, not DPPK nor the Republic of China (Taiwan).

Only in your wildest imagination, IP. However, you have reinforced my wife's opinion about Europeans, none of it good.

Okay Hudson, does your wife speak Cantonese or Mandarin? I hope she didn't sell or transplant her kidney to you (just kidding dude). No wonder we didn't hear any negative comment from you about China. I believe that China will replace the US as the world's Superpower within two decades. So Hudson, you're safe. You may want to apply as Chinese citizen. Too bad our country doesn't have dual citizenship like Canada.

She speaks both, Macy, along with English and Vietnamese.
As for China, it may be a economic superpower, but it is still heavily dependent on foreign direct investment from US, Korea, Japan, and, to some extent, Europe.

She also speaks Vietnamese? She could be a Vietnamese-Chinese. I think she came from Vietnam of Chinese descent. I hope she didn't marry you to legalize her stay here.

Her provence is near the Vietnamese border. Since 1992, there has been an influx of trade between China and Vietnam with her provence as a key import/export trade area. Her ethnicity is Han Chinese. Besides the Han, there are another 50 plus minority ethnic Chinese groups in China.

If she's Han Chinese, then she's a pure Mandarin. There are many provinces close to Vietnam and these are Canton and Fujian. Actually, Vietnamese and other Asians are mostly descendants of China.
Iperson, I think JFK's assassination was partly due to his support for the blacks and minorities. Most of the blacks cried upon hearing of his death. Remember that civil rights movement was at its peak on those days. JFK was one President who showed love and concern for the blacks. Of course there were other reasons that we shall never know. His death remains to be a mystery.
I highly doubt JFK death had anything to do with that. Surely segregation was the controversial issue at that time, but I doubt anybody would kill the president because of that. Although, seeing the turn of events in the country at this time, I lose my firm opinion on that. The bigotry and hatred from simple minded folks in this country combined with some dangerous elements like the KKK and minutemen members, everything is possible. Stupidity has no limits. I really start to understand better the history of this country.

Fuijan Province is close, but not on the border. Guang**** (Canton is the old name before CCP came into power), Guangxi, and Yannin provinces are actually on the border between China and Vietnam.
Han Chinese are the largest minority ethnic group within China, and have been discriminated against during various times in Chinese history. But do not confuse "Han" with "Chinese" even though the two terms have been used interchangeably.
Cantonese is predominantly spoken in Southern China, especially Hong Kong. Mandarin is the official language.

It is an interesting history, and one filled with dualist meanings, especially Chinese history.
The Filipino history is one to be proud of. In recent history, one of the unsung heroes in WWII were the Filipino guerillas who helped prepare the way for Gen Douglas McArthur's return. They showed tremendous courage and tenacity in the line of fire.

I don't know much about Philippine history. My fiance was raised and educated here in the US; and she too knows nothing about it. But, I read some of the historical books and documents. Indeed, Filipinos and Americans' close relationship goes back a long time. There was Philippine-American War, though. Atrocities were committed by our troops. It was triggered by the shooting and killing of one solddier of a young Filipino boy mistaken for a wild pig. The abuses committed by the GIs made some members of then Buffalo soldiers (blacks) side with the Filipinos. Speaking of World War Two, yes the Filipinos stopped the Japanese at Bataan even before Gen. MacArthur's return. Had it not for the brave Filipino soldiers, the Japanese would have proceeded to invade Australia. Anyway, we should also be proud of our troops who fought side by side with the Filipinos.
