Browsing through various thread, I come across a very common theme that my home country is so great, it has great healthcare, great economy, education etc. Like Germany, France, UK, Ireland etc.

My question is if that is the case and entirely true, why do you come to USA and then whine about health care, economy, education etc of USA? Why not go back to your rock-solid-utmost-supreme country? Why bother to stay here and ruin your life if your home country is far more superior?

Well if you read few posts on this board you would be surprised to see America is a melting pot, a true melting pot that has immigrants from all over the world, including the ones I mentioned above. And some one from one of the above country made that statement Frown

I agree...if these ungrateful douchebags believe that their country is soooooo much better than the US of A, well, by all means, haul your sorry behind outta here and go back to your own "wonderful" country...and take those cows from immigrate2us.lard with you....that way, they will be able to fully appreciate the benefits of living in a country that has no trailer parks nor WalMarts...

Jyst today I spoke with somone here, and he is selling everything because he just got his green card, However it puzzle me that he was complaining on how much he dislike the US. I also met other people when I lived in the US whom were always complaining on how they disliked the US but they never wanted to leave, I guess in my opinion that some people are not used to the complaince of the law, like driving rules, use of alcohol in public places, how the government gets involved in the way the raise their own children, to learn the language, to adjust to the culture, For me it was (and still) very difficult to adjust to the way things are done here, is amazing how children under 10 years old are panhandling at very late hours of the night and no one cares, how most people dont respect basic driving rules, (like trowing trash out of their car windows), I seem people passing patrol cars over the speed limit, when people get arrested their are not handcuffed and if they do it is a huge violation of human rights, one time I got rear-ended by a very drunk driver I told the cops that one of my children was injured and according to the law here both drivers have to go to jail, can you believe that, and people paid their fines if they can if not and showed they cant afford it then poor people dont have to pay.

Well tomorrow is a huge holiday so I have nothing to do, good night everyone

I had some friends and a former g/f from the UK. They were always complaining about something about the USA, saying how great the UK was. But they won't return. I wonder why too.

From My Studies, Experience, Observations.

They Are Fooling Themselves and Fooling USA. Hiding The Truth Of The Bad From The Home Country, Since It Is There Original It Affects Their Ability To Speak of The Bad, Only Showing, Disclosing The Good They Themselves Want To Remember! Attempting To Forget The Bad That Drove Them Here!!!

Yet The Lifestyle They Lived Actually Contributed To The Bad In The First Place!!! Now It Is HERE!!! Bring It With Them Unknowingly In Many Cases!! And Many Others Fully Aware Of The Damage It Causes USA. No Concern To Them!! Eventually Creating The Very Same Thing They Escaped In The First Place! Here In USA! Some Realize This And Completely Change To USA "Adjustment" "Respect" For USA. Others Are Virus! Plague! On USA System And Deppremental To Maintaining What USA used To Be!

Come For The $$$$$$$. Opportunity!!! Get A Piece!!!!

Census 2000 too nosey? Republicans criticize long-form questions

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Do you have a shower? Does your toilet flush? How is your mental condition? Those are just some of the questions on the long version of Census 2000 that have some people complaining to their congressional delegations.

Republicans say they're hearing from people who say the questions on the long form are too nosey. But some Democrats say the GOP is just trying to discourage an accurate count, which typically benefits Democrats.

There are 53 questions on the long form this year, down from 57 in 1990. By comparison, the shorter form has seven questions.

Among the long-form questions drawing ire is question 17, which asks about the respondent's physical, mental or emotional conditions. And question 39 asks whether the respondent has complete plumbing facilities: hot and cold water? A flush toilet? A bathtub or shower?

Why ask such questions? The Census Bureau says the information is necessary to determine which communities get federal funds for schools, fire protection and other services. Why answer them? It's required by law.

But presumptive GOP presidential nominee George W. Bush said Thursday he's not sure he would fill out the detailed version of the questionnaire, which goes to one in six of the country's 115 million households.

"We want as accurate a count as possible, but I can understand why people don't want to give over that information to the government," Bush said Thursday during a campaign stop in Milwaukee. "And if I have the long form, I'm not sure I would, either."

The Texas governor stopped short of advising people not to complete the form. But he said, "If they're worried about the government intruding into their personal lives, they ought to think about it."
There is no actual hard deadline for returning census forms, according to Census Bureau spokesman Mike Bergman. But Bergman told CNN that Saturday, April 1, is considered "Census Day."

"That's the day we want everyone not just to think about the census, but if they haven't already -- fill it out and put it in the mail," he said.

Bergman said failure to return a census form is punishable by a $100 fine and a prison term. But he said his agency is more interested in collecting data than in prosecuting people who toss the forms. Instead, those who don't quickly file -- or who skip questions -- will find their privacy invaded again. A census worker may show up on their doorstep and ask those probing questions -- in person.

Hudson, you had to go back nearly 9 years to find some obscure article about a census to get some dirt on us Republicans? Not bad, shows we are right after all.

You voted democrat. This country is not worth sneaking into any more.

You missed the point,

A9 said that Republicans never complain and thus love America. And as for you, how many hours ago were you complaining about the tax system? Puts you in the same boat as those Democrats. Because you complain, you HATE AMERICA!!!!!!!!

Now Hudson you are twisting things around. Nowhere in my original post I ever said Republicans never complain or only Democrats complain about USA. The posting was generic that stated immigrants complain. These immigrants can be Republican or Democrat. Since I never posted such comment and you quickly jumped to conclusion, by that fact alone you are agreeing and stating that Democrats are whiners.

I've been looking at this thread and trying to understand its purpose. Why are immigrants to this country any different than people who were born here? They are working, paying taxes and suffering the same problems as those of us who have no other country to claim as home. So, why shouldn't they be able to complain about the situation presently in the US? It s.ucks for all of us, regardless of status. I love my country, but I believe most immigrants to the US love her too. Doesn't mean they have to abandon the love for their home countries, but I honestly believe that the majority of immigrants who chose to make the US their new home love her as much as I do.

Kind of drastic transformation in one year . Wink The point is not if you are allowed to complain or not. Of course all of us have right to complain if the system is not working for the good of country and its residents.

What the topic refers to is immigrants want to come here and live here, yet have the audacity to state, "My original home country is much better." So the question is if that in fact is true why even bother to stay here? Please read the post again. It has not been edited like others, not yet. Big Grin

Now when one states that my original home country is much better, it really speaks to their love for USA. Lets not stay in the state of delusion.

I really hate when illegals complain about USCIS. Hello...you came here illegally and you expect USCIS to be prompt. To be your servant and act at your wish.

Y'know what, it's perfectly natural to make comparisons between your country of birth and your adopted country and if it were reversed and it were a USC moving elsewhere, I'm sure they would do it too ... actually, I know they would. My husband did regularly during the 8 years he lived in my country.

I didn't begrudge him that. He worked, he paid taxes, he saw first hand the politics and the problems and went through the day to day difficulties. Because of that, he had a right to his opinions, whether I agreed with it or not.

Same goes with me now that I'm in the US. I'm living it. Who are you to tell me I don't have the right to an opinion on situations that affect me every day?

Where did he say Republicans never complain? It was concerning immigrants who act like democrats. Who by the way can't vote. Re-read your crystal ball.
