The recent Immigration Bill passed by the Senate has an amendment where it would grant the children of Filipino World War II veterans special immigrant status for the purpose of family reunification.

This is the link:
http://www.akaka.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=Speeches.Home&month=5&year=2006&release_id=418

My question is where to lobby or who to contact to about those US Filipino veterans who filed petitions to their children and got approved, but are now deceased? To these veterans, this sponsorhip were their last living will. And hopefully be heard too

Anyone, please comment. Thanks.

Is that not too late?
I was thinking that it should be sent to any congressman / house rep before they convene.
I just don't know who this person is or where to contact him / her /them. thanks.

If there is no bill, there will be no granting of status to anybody. We just have to wait and see what happens.

i think the point that Mary wants to make is to make the move NOW before the bill becomes final or passed by congress.

i also do not know the process but i guess going to this link: http://www.house.gov/
and post her concerns there might help.maybe.
