Hi all,

i've been asking to see how long it takes to get an interview in NYC for AOS .

Today i got the letter from INS for my interview. It will be on Mon Aug 29 at 1pm. Dangg, it is a 7 months waiting now. in a sense, i'm relieved. on another hand, i'm ***med to know that i will wait 7 more months for the interview and god knows how long till i get my actual greencard.

Here is my timeline

AOS 485 with USC filed and received by ins on march 19/2003
Fingerprinted august 29 2004.

i'm on my second EAD now and will find for my 3rd EAD.

It is weird that my interview is exactly 1 year from my fingerprint date.

f-u-c-k me. You need to move out of New York State and go to a place where the processing is a hell of a lot quicker. I bet if you moved to CT or NJ or even my favorite VT that you will get interviewed quicker than 7 months. I was given a month's notice for my AOS interview in Baltimore all those years ago. However, I moved out of state and there was only a month's delay. My point is getting 7 months notice for an interview is outragous and I'm sure you would fair better out of NY

Congratsssssssssssssssss! But Andy I have to say that I am surprised you were getting so impatient for your interview letter, you only applied in March 2003, unless it's a typo!!
I always thought you applied in March 2002 or even 2001!!!!!!!!!!

Well in NY never loose hope!

Good luck in August, may be by then they would have started folding my Approval/Denial letter!!!!!!

Remy,
The letter (form i-797C) sent from NBC,MO on feb 16. I don't think district office contact anyone directly anymore...everything is centralized now.

Kalla,
Thanks.
I tried to be patient but seeing you and other stuck in limbo, i can't be patient for too long.

Yes my priority date is March 19/2003. my case is 6 months after your case but my interview is 14 months after your interview.

In all, my case took 2 years and 6 months from filing to interview. Who knows what happen after that. Hopefully, when i go to interview, my FBI fingerprint is cleared and my name will be cleared soon.
If all is well, i should book a tickect to vist my family next New year after 9 years here.
Now, back to the paper preparations, what should i start doing now. By the way, i have an attorney so he will come with me and my wife to the interview.

hum, your case is eerily similar to mine.

Your priority date is a week after mine and your interview date letter from NSC is 2 days after mine.

But i never get any letter from NYC district. Hum...think, think...did i miss that letter? If you have a lawyer, check with him or call 1800 number and see which one is correct. You don't want to miss any interview...you may have to go to both if you got 2 letters...do it asap and let us know cause your int is coming soon.

Kalla, did your letter from NYC office of NSC
