Our laywer left the country without informing us.
We are currently pending for naturalization.
Some of our files ( visa for travel and employment authorization ) are due for refiling.

Question is can we refile these papers on our own without a lawyer? We think we will be getting a new lawyer. But currently are without. Should we let INS know that we are respresenting ourselves for now? What should we do?
and what form would we need to fill in order to inform INS?

You can go to the INS and withdraw him as your attorney, and file the applications that need to be renewed by yourselves, for the travel document, you need the form I-131 and for a work permit, form I-765, you should file these forms atleast 90 days prior to the expiration of your documents. Then, if you decide to hire another attorney, they can file the G-28 to enter as your new attorney. You can download the applications from www.ins.gov. They are simple forms and you shouldn't have any problems completing them.
