You have to have your biometrics eachtime of a change of status...You had a biometrics when you applied to get your work permit etc...then for the conditional....to have your conditional removed, you also have to have a "new" biometrics...because thats very important, because you will be a un-conditonal resident of the Unites States -forever!
The next time you would need a new biometrics is when you apply for citizenship....or when you renew your greencard after 10 years. You have to have another biometrics

Hi Taypen, Don't be worried. I've been in the same situation. We file I751 in may 2006 and it was approved in June (!!!) 2006. Neither us nor our attorney received anything from USCIS other then an extenstion letter. I checked prosseccing times for CSS every day untill it showed may. My case status search always failed: number was never found. Then my attorney emailed an immigration officer and got an email reply that our petition was approved. I made an appointment through INFOPASS for ADIT and this info was verified. So, don't be worried. I would advise you to call them and find out the status of your I751. By the way, even now case status on USCIS website never finds my application number.

Like I said, it makes no difference when others got their approval aka greencard.
Because the person who had to wait 2 months applied somewhere else...every ins office is different, some place take for ever and what not.

A certain month may have less application than the other and all...

I assume the avarage time is between 3 - 6 months.

But isn't it amazing though how fast they cash in the checks you sent with your application.Wish they would process the application as fast as they deposit the checks lol

My point was not how quickly CSC processed our I751 but the fact that they didn't sent any approval letter to us or our attorney.
I agree that it doesn't help to know that other SC works faster or slower.

Nika, thats what I mean, in order to be approved they need to process your application, meaning view it,look at it,and make a decision. If did not recieve an approval, that just means they did not even look at it yet.U know...

Think of it this way.You had a big exam at school. After you were done with your exam, you turned in your exam to the teacher...
Now,3 months later you still did not receive a grade for your exam and no answer. The reason most likely is,the teacher did not even process your exam and did not look at it and review it in order to give you a grade, probabaly because he is like 300 exam laying on front of him and he takes his time....

HBKHBK-in my case the teacher reviewed everything, gave me a grade and completely forgot to tell me or my attorney about it.
That's what happened with me. Sorry if it is not evident from my previous posting. Our petition was approved in June. I checked online with the receipt number for the case status, the search always failed. When 5 months later processing time schedule on USCIS website showed May (when our I751 was mailed to the SC), our attorney contacted an immigration officer who told him that the petiton was approved in June. But no approval letter was received by any of us. So, it sometimes happens that an exam is passed and graded and you are not informed.
But thank you for putting everything in a simple way for me and even your irony. Wink

CSC no longer replies public e-mails, only from attorneys and public representatives (like your congressman).

Your best bet is to visit your local office with INFOPASS and ask question directly.

You can either inquire with the office processing your application or contact your congressman to inquire on your behalf, as it's been more than 6 months since the time of filing.

When the cases get transfered to other centers, they often get "lost". Like with my case - they can't figure out where my file is in the continental US...LOL

I am not even sure why you exactly called the 1800 number because on I751 cases..you won't have any answers of status really. All you can find out, like I said before,to see what month they are currently prrocessing...
and as long as its not been 12 months you should not be to worked up about this...it can take up 12 months, like they told you in your extansion letter.

I sent my application out in August..I am also waiting. No worries though

Taypen, I just heard that my I751 is stuck on a nackground check and they can't move ahead before it is completed. There is no time-frame for them to get the results back from the FBI.

You might be in the same situation, as you had biometrics done as well.

Yes, I am actually talking to the Immigration Officer who became very involved with my case via e-mails (sorry, can't give away the name).

YOur lawyer might e-mail to 751 unit and they can look it up when your file was looked at the last time (they don't show it in the case area at uscis.gov).

All I know, I'll file the lawsuit the next day of the 6-month expiration ..;-)
