I never registered for the NSEERS program back in 2003 (was out of status at the time). I understand it is now required for people from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Sudan, Syria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen.

I am from Jordan which was required to register with group 4, but is not currently required to register as I understand. Will the issue come up during the adjustment of status process? What effect does it have? What remedies are available?

Yes, of course the...er, "issue" will come up. My understanding is that it makes you ineligible to adjust your status in the United States.

Did you think that the Department of Homeland Security was just kidding when they said that you had to register?
