I'm learning more and more from this board the long delays petitioners are going through. I've always knows the process was long and tedious but I've never really heard any stories until I read a lot of these postings. Fortunately, that has made me even more aware of what these people are going through and I better understand their situations although theirs might be different from any illegals. But I still want to know as much as I can about issues. How would it be if I, as a USC, declared that I wish they'd put limits on people coming in from other countries? You'd never hear that coming from me. But I want to know and understand where people are coming from before I make derogarory comments about them.

Just to touch on a couple things. You've said before they don't learn english. Well, there's the ones that don't and there's the ones that do. I can tell you that it proposed that illegals would have to learn English up to a certain communicable level. And it should be so. I can speak of an instance where an individual said the illegals needed to learn English. I told them that when a person is learning a new language they need to use it in practicality. The guy said he didn't have anything to say to them. I told him that people have to be spoken with to practice. There's various points to make about why some don't learn. I can tell you several.

If you know a lot about Hispanics (illegals, or whomever) then I bet you could give me some reasons why they don't learn. (Those that don't learn that is.)

Often I wonder how much one knows about the issue they're discussing. As somebody else mentioned, you can tell by their postings.

It is evident, and more so now after Mark Lowry's article was posted in here, that the majority of the US-people is benefiting from illegal immigration, and according to the article, it is not just one side that is benefiting from that either. I’d say take your pick, it’s politicians, it’s corporations, it’s wartime profiteering, it’s anti-American groups, etc., etc. – and last but not least it’s the illegal immigrants themselves. By focusing specifically on the masses coming from south of the boarder, they are (for lack of a better word) money saving item to this nation. America is not driven by rich people, but by the voluminous middle class. The class that works hard to make ends meet and that values a penny, and the class where both people in the household work, to make a good living and obtain the American dream. Illegal migrants come here because the can survive and can make a living. As long as government is undecided whom to favor and for as long as there is work for them, they will be here filling the voids and will keep on coming.

The extremist, clearly want the immigrants gone, but I bet you, they are ill-prepared in executing their plan, because this is free America and one cannot go around and threaten the majority of peoples existence by saying I am going to round up the illegal and will force you to go and hire Americans – there’s going to be a lot of opposition.

I think this very issue is comparable to the Chinese imports. Corporate America (for valid reasons) is against it. However, it's the middle class that keeps is up, because it’s easier to go and buy cheap Chinese ware rather than Ethan Allen but still have a nice living room.

Two situations led me to this site. #1 - I know of a few illegals from a company that we do business with. They are pretty good guys - work hard, are diligent and punctual. They are from Mexico, but are illegal. #2 - My brother-in-law found 'love' on the internet with a Phillipino women on a visa living in Canada. I came here for a reference point only - never intending to join this forum. I read posts for about 2 or 3 weeks and got really ticked off hearing illegals whine and complain about our government, laws, president, etc. That's when I joined.

Now that I've become more educated, I'm 99% sure that the illegal Mexicans will need to go back to their country if they ever have any hope of coming here legally. I'm 80% sure my brother-in-law is being scammed for a GC. I'm 100% behind legal immigration and 100$ against illegal immigration - period!

And, Explora, to answer your question, I was born in the USA - been here all my life.

What was was malicious about what i said, Abram19? Thank you, Kollerkrot, for calling her on that. My brother in law is 44 and totally clueless. He met this woman on the internet and I am really more than 80% sure she's only using him for a green card. He's not rich, nor really good looking - has a history of making bad decisions and is 12 years her senior? The writing is on the wall that this woman just wants an 'in' to this country - then she'll dump him as soon as she's gotten a green card and ****ed the life blood out of him (probably making up some kind of abuse allegation). I can't stand this part of illegals - when they come close to hurting my family members (even the stupid ones), it just blows my stack.
