Explora: I came here legally, but my heart goes out to the illegals, because like you and me, they’re human beings, not a race-less pieces of dirt or scum of the earth that the extremes would want them to appear.
Just like you I’ve got one nagging question out there that’s left unanswered. If these human beings are so unwelcome here, why in heaven’s name are they here or why they continue to be here and increasing in number by the day? The official 12M figure to me is conservative; it could easily be times two on the ground.
It’s convenient and fashionable (even cute and cool) to hitch a ride with the anti-immigrant bandwagon - to direct one’s anger at the voiceless lot that hides in the shadows and holler: deport them all, drive them away from my schools, hospitals, parks, buses, malls, prisons, blah blah blah! But these hordes of people were not sneaked in by a giant space ship last night while America sleeps, and come morning time wallah! they all got scattered and scampered for safety all over the nation.
Foremost in my mind is the ill-placed logic by others to judge them on a wholesale basis as literally law breakers or even criminals. For me crime is an effect not a cause that needs deeper scrutiny; in the same way, these illegals are like faulty byproducts of a less-than-perfect assembly line; or the tip of an iceberg where the more massive part that supports it is invisible and mysterious to the naked eye; or like a fever or pain which are symptoms of real diseases that need to be treated in the first place so that the symptoms will not recur.
There was a story last year of an 8-year-old boy who took on the 3-day trek from Mexico with three pieces of tortillas and a couple of bottled tap water tucked in his shirt who mysteriously made it to the US border on a mission to join his illegal father in New York City. To me this boy is not a breaker of US laws but an innocent soul who is a victim of destiny whose only fault is his burning love for his father to whom to throw his frail, tired and longing body to his father's waiting arms and melt in his fatherly kisses, only if……. No rules, no laws, no borders, but all it takes is a parent’s heart to be moved by this story.
I don’t expect the immigration pundits here to feel otherwise more than disgust behind their raised eyebrows, but let me add this scenario: there is a man, a grownup child, whose mother sleeps with another five men aside from his own father, these men join them at breakfast, at the garage, or even help them with plumbing, gardening, etc. The son even heard one of them wallowing in a threesome bliss in bed with his parents last night. The question is should the son question his parents why this is happening or direct his anger to the five men?
Or this man’s voluptuous scantily-clad sister dances by the crowded roadside and she’s naturally surrounded by curious on-lookers with lusts in their eyes, some even dares touch her luscious parts because anyway it is possible and all she does to react is give them a pointed stare. Who should the man stop, his sister or the spectators?

Reported irrelevant pay increases don’t offset fewer U.S. jobs and at least 926% higher living costs. It takes unconstitutional American tax revenue handouts from 10 to 55 times as higher as their Mexican pay to make it possible for illegals to come to America. Factors not considered in the bogus arguments that illegals come here to better themselves include:
Mexican and U.S. unemployment rate differences. The New York Times 2002 Almanac reported Mexican 2.2% in 2000 and World Almanac showed U.S. 5.6% unemployment rate in 2002 (not including unemployed no longer looking for work). Unskilled, foreign speaking illegals without a high school education don’t leave guaranteed employment for an economy with at best 100% greater unemployment chances. American unskilled workers have unemployment rates as high as 17%. Illegal Mexican immigrants have a whopping 850% greater chance of not finding similar U.S. unskilled work when they arrive.
Mexican and U.S. cost of living differences. (New York Times 2002 Almanac pg.327) U.S. 1999 average consumer price index of 166.6 is 926% higher than Mexico’s (http://www.latin-focus.com) 1999 price index of 18 and 5,550% higher than Mexico’s 2005 consumer price index of 3. If illegals make $2 per hour or $4,000 a year and get a 300% pay increase to $6 per hour as proponents suggest they earn in low wage work lazy Americans won’t do, then, their $12,000 U.S. salary won’t cover U.S. living expenses.
U.S. family of 4, poverty levels were $13,359 in 1990, $18,104 in 2001, and now over $20,000 not including government subsidies. Illegals can’t live on illegal pay reported without government subsidies.
U.S. illegal entry costs as low as $1,000 or as high as $40,000 for a family of four, depending on U.S. destination makes illegal migration difficult. Poor Mexicans making $4,000 a year must save all pay for 10 years to amass the cash. It’d require 3 years working low wage U.S, jobs “lazy Americans†won’t do. It just ain’t so Joe.
With exorbitant moving expenses, fewer U.S. jobs, higher living costs and poverty levels, illegal immigrants drawn by greed and treasonous wartime profiteering only come here for:

I am a believer in getting to the root of a problem. The root of the issue of immigration in America stems from money and politics... while middle America is arguing their brains out, businesses are hiring illegals or offshoring your jobs. Businesses are for the most part about making profit, and if that means hiring workers without the right papers, hey so be it. If laws are enforced and Americans do take these jobs, guess what, the job is going overseas... The other side of the coin is, corporate America also rules America. Politicians dont give a rat's *** about the problem. Yea lip service says its broken. Nothing stops America from deporting immigrants, legal and illegal on a massive scale starting this minute, but of course lip service can say, who will do the menial jobs, who will pay for the fence, etc...

But can you realistically picture massive armies rounding up 12 million illegals, providing for them and then transporting them out of our country? That seems like a bigger messier problem than simply having them here.
