In an Arab League meeting, the Lebanese PM broke down narrating how his country is suffering under the hands of Israel. It was an emotional meeting among the Arab nations. The Arab nations' anger could have a great impact to the region. Moderates and those that take a neutral stand could switch to the side of Lebanon thereby indirectly favoring the Hezbollah militants.
To the US, Israel and their allies, Hezbollah is a terrorist group. To the Hezbollah supporters and Lebanese people, it's a resistance movement against Israeli aggression. The US and Israel want Hezbollah be disarmed and leave Lebanon. But, they fail to recognize the fact that Hezbollah has become part of the Lebanese political system wherein many Hezbollah representatives have been elected to the government through a democratic process. Why should these Hezbollah be asked to leave when they are now part of the Lebanese government?
The Lebanese PM broke down with tears falling from his eyes. It was a very touching speech to the Arab League. While the US pretends to call for an end to the crisis, Israel continues to bomb most parts of Lebanon including its capital Beirut. Infrastures were destroyed. Main roads leading to safer territories were heavily damaged. Even hospitals are now being attacked. Power plants were bombed causing the recent oil spill in the Lebanon sea around Beirut. It has now become an environmental problem that will take years to remedy. Thousands have already been killed mostly civilians.
Today, it's easy to determine who are the culprits in this bloody conflict. Bombing the entire nation and killing thousands of women and children was not an answer to the recovery of one young Israel soldier. Putting sea blockade at the outset of the Israel's attack was in itself a sign of evil intention. Why blockade in the sea? What has commercial and humanitarian shipment of aides got to do with the war?
Israel's long term evil plan in the region encouraged by the US has become more evident as the crisis continues.
But if you think about it: how stupid and shallow all of this conflicts are..................and how so not worth it is to take lives away from people, break their lives, make their lives miserable, kill their children, break their families, force people to change their ways of living and psychologically destroy humanity in them, make killers out of men instead of fathers because of the stupid, selfish desires to be competitive on the 'global scene' and to have political, ideological, economical power. So not worth.
But on the other hand, because of globalization, no country can stay away from international politics anymore, especially US.
mpodcsin, let's face it...there are lots of wandering juice, I mean Jews, in this site. We're not anti-semetic. We're just being honest and frank about the issues in this Lebanon crisis. For the Lebanese PM to be that emotional and cry was something no leader or foreign government must ignore. It's real. It's serious. I wonder when Bush would shed some tears. Maybe when his wife leaves him...
There are 12 million Illegal Hezbollah Members in US , including those of Mexican origin, and they all cry together with Lebanese PM and plan to launch grenades on us as soon as Sheik Nasralla commands them to do so !
VERILY I SPEAK THE THRUTH !
YOU MUST READ WWW.FAIRUS.ORG AND HELP OUR COLLECTIVE EFFORTS TO KICK OUT 12 MILLION ILLEGAL LEBANESE HEZBOLLAHS OUT OF HERE !
NO HEZBOLLAH=GUEST WORKER AMNESTY EVER ! WWW.FAIRUS.ORG FOREVER !
Illegals in the US are not only Mexicans and Lebanese, there are Asians such as Filipinos; even Europeans such as Irish. American Jews didn't come from America too. They grabbed this country's wealth and corrupt the politicians.
You are so stupid and naive, you MUST READ WWW.FAIRUS.ORG !!! ALL 12 MILLION ILLEGALS ARE LEBANESE HEZBOLLAH MEMBERS, INCLUDING ALL THOSE OF ASIAN, FILIPINO AND EUROPEAN DESCENT ! ILLEGAL = LEBANESE HEZBOLLAH, REGARDLESS OF ANCESTRY AND ORIGIN !!!
Well, many also say that the present group of people, the mainstream, who claim to be true and full blooded Americans used to be Barbarians who came from Europe.
Let's hope a cease-fire agreement would be in place. But I doubt it, at least not one that would totally stop armed hostilities.
There was and is near-universal condemnation of Israel's excessive reaction to the abduction of two Israeli soldiers by the Hezbollah. There was also an almost unanimous call from the international community for an immediate cease-fire. The only exceptions were Israel of course, and some Western countries led by the United States and its poodle, the United Kingdom countries that invariably fancy themselves as champions of world peace and of human rights.
The seemingly hasty return to Washington last week of US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice from Israel, ostensibly to work on a UN Security Council resolution that would help stanch the bloodshed, looked like simply a ploy to afford Israel more time to try and finish off the Hezbollah. She and just about everybody else knows that the UN Security Council is not exactly a fast worker, especially when it comes to crafting resolutions involving the Middle East.
In the meantime, the carnage continues with Israel's powerful military machine killing and maiming civilians, destroying Lebanese infrastructure and worst of all, terrorizing the entire Lebanese population.
My only follow up comment is that I agree for 100% with you. The majority of the US population does not want to see the tructh of what happens. As I have said before, UN resolution 181 was a big mistake. Without 181 there would not be the Israel as we know it today, and there would not be all the trouble in the area.

So why don't you travel back in time and change that resolution....
After Lebanon crisis, racial profiling continues. The three Arab-Americans from Texas who bought many cell phones in Michigan were first suspected to be targeting the Michigan bridge. Now, the HSD admits there's no link between the three to the terrorists. After showing their pictures all over the world, they now say they're not linked. Damage has been done. How do you remedy the mental and emotional trauma for this selective profiling? If those three were whites, would they be suspected why they bought many cell phones. Those three youths only wanted to re-sell the items in Texas for profit.
