On the chat room: I tested it here and its working. If anyone else out there has a problem with the chat (other than davdah) I would appreciate it if you would post your experience here (positive or negative). That way it might help identify whether it is an issue unique to one user or whether more are affected. Thanks in advance to all who test the chat feature and report here.

To Sprint_girl07: Our tech guru still has your point on his plate, but he is swamped right now. He will answer us on your question, but it may be next week.

To davdah: I do not consider myself a Republican - I am independent. But I do like a minimal amount of rules for this board - the more the rules, the more the time someone has to spend enforcing them. No rules is not good, but too many rules is not good either. The trick is to find just the right amount of rules.

To All: May I repeat something I posted before on the Alexa toolbar? I have used it for many years. I find it useful for two things (1) it gives me an idea of the relative popularity of any website I happen to be visiting, and (2) it shows similar websites to the one I happen to be on right on the toolbar for me to explore (comes in handy when visiting websites on obscure subjects). For those who don't know about the toolbar, and want to learn more, or to install it and try it out, here's the link:

I thought they meant the same, you have banned babybey or whatever his name was, so why are you not banning others for the same.

Rather bright. Didn't load for me either properly last night when I tried.

This is a defect in the programming. Might be a vista issue. Using IE 7 cipher 256.

@Sam: I'm just curious....before I registered here back then (as you see a bit long time ago) there used to be another site which was like this one, but the topics were sort of a "drop down list" and maybe it had even a similar name than this (ILW). I remember that one day the webmaster told us that that page going to be taken down soon, so we should go to this site. Was it actually you?
So weirdo to go back to that time.... It even had a symbol, but I just can't recall it anymore...
Do you know what I'm talking about? (maybe not..just curious)

Hi Jeanine: Thanks for your question - let me here give a short history of the ILW.COM discussion board. The board was originally started in 1999 (to the best of my recollection) just before I acquired this website (along with many attorneys and friends). We moved the discussion board to our own servers in early 2000. Our site was hacked in April 2002, and we then moved the discussion board to groupee for security reasons. So, if you have been around since the pre-groupee days, then you must be one of the oldest members of this board! Trust this helps. - Sam.

I have written the webmaster and complained about this myself with no response and I see now that it's apparently okay to spew unfounded insults towards other members. I have also reported explora for the same. Again, this seems to be okay. What kind of serious discussion board allows this? They don't, so this is not a serious discussion board. It's a joke. I'm sure you consider this a break of the rules since it's targeted at your board but that's okay. I have no wish to be part of a site that allows members to behave any way they see fit without any repercussions. If you want to be taken seriously you wouldn't let some people attack others. Again, what a joke, feel free to delete me.

@Sam: Hey Sam! Thank you for responding. If your old site (when you had your own server) had the topics under each other as if it was a drop-down list (not like this one, altho these are also under each other) and had a sort of symbol and were announcing that you're moving here then yes, I was there. Too bad I can't recall what its name was...I don't remember if it had the same name as this one, or not...but if it pops into my head, I'll let you know! Anyway, that's how I remember that site too. I joined that in 2000 and left it somewhere 2002 and then realized that I should be using this site way later. (I just couldn't believe that site was not alive anymore)

I didn't log in for a day and noticed that there is a spammer in the forum. Is this a sign that ILW.com is becoming more popular attracting these spammers?

It seems that these new type of spammers want to direct people to places like blogs where they need hits. That is what I think it is about really.
The worry though is sometimes sites can have codes in it where it can pick up information from you, so I would advise anyone really to take precautions when there are suspicious links that are posted, especially by new members.

I did try and bring back the newer posts to the top as the spammer was knocking them down and bringing older ones up, so I apologize for my unusual postings/emoticons on some threads.

I think I beat the spammer in the end though

Ok, I would want to put this matter back to the fore because I suppose this is important. Two things come to my mind: first is the fact that when a posted article is duplicated intentionally, it takes up space. Has anybody heard about the prediction that the internet data space would be full by year 2010? So what's wrong with each of them consistently posting news articles along their respective and relevant threads? Except maybe just to manifest defiance towards the other's position on the issue. While on the side, readers like me lose the appetite to read any article that's being caught in such a contest of grits, that's probably of prime importance.

duplicate posts... so what. many articles are applicable to 2 subjets. everybody doesnt just read on thread titile.

It doesnt irritate me. If i see a duplicate that I have read, I just pass over it b/c I read it already.

Dont sweat the little things in life people... All this bickering and fighting .... It will only make your hair gray.
