I just had my PR interview at the San Antonio district office. They have stamped my passport, which is valid for a year. Does any one know how long it usually take INS to mail the green card?

(For those who would like to know, my spouse is a USC, It took about 12 months from filing I130/485 to interview at the San Antonio office.)

With the INS, timelines are always anyone's guess... But it should not take very long... The stamp in your passport carries the exact same 'weight' as a GC so don't sweat it... Your GC will be there one day soon...

I'm guessing you're not the same person as the first post on this thread.

We can't help you if you don't give us what you filed for, when you filed for it...

sorry! yes I am different then initiator of this topic.but essence/ subject matter is same. my case is even more severe, I suppose.

I entered USA on 20th Oct 2001.our visa category is F4(family based).I wrote to Mesquite office first in last week of April 2002. as we were told from INS office that we should not inquire before 6 months.there after 2-3 times I have written to them that still have not received GC. once even to their center Director.still no reply. no GC.

An I-551 stamp in your passport is exactly the same as a GC. If it expires, you will have to visit your local INS office for renewal. Do not be surprised that the INS does not reply to you - this is just status quo...
