Up until About 10 years ago i Never heard Of this spousal abuse thing. My EX, "SOON TO BE I HOPE" has 2 friends from same place Of Origin, Residing In The Home I Bought "White picket fence dreams" the 2 Friends Also Are Supposedly Victims Of spousal abuse and One of The husbands Is In the Clinker for 6 Months. The Other i havn't heard or seen Of long time now. all i Know these Guys Are No ABUSERS!!! i Too was accused And lost To The sociopaths! How do you win Against Female perfect Lyers where getting status in the USA Is Bred Into their goal in Life.

DC, What you posted prior to RN's post is, from a legal standpoint, hearsay, innuendo, rationalization, etc. You cannot generalize about any group ro culture. For instance, I cannot assume you are a Redskins, Wizards, and Senator fan simply because you live in the nation's capital. After my friend's wife passed away from complications of Diabetes and kidney failure, they met, became friends, and eventually married. They are still married after five years and she is in the missionary field with him. She was a professor. A dozen or so family and friends of her also married Westerners. All Christians and no divorces. Then you have posters here such as Mrs. B, Speed, RN, and a few others who are Filipino descent. Each have more character in once ounce of flesh than you do in your entire body. So, it is the culture or the person DC? It cannot be the culture because your generalizations were proven false. DC, I will tell you one or two things about me. I have diabetes. And because of my diabetes, several Asian women did not wish to marry me. The reason, in their culture it was bad luck and a disgrace to their family. A lot of it is based on centuries old traditions and religious beliefs. Some are still friends, both married and divorced, and some simply stopped talking to me. Did it hurt me? Yes. Was I very upset? Yes. Did I grieve? Yes. Did I act stupidly for a while? Yes. Now, it was not anything that I did, but simply the disease. I was not being dumped for a better looking guy or a guy with more money or a former boyfriend. I was being because of diabetes. That is very hard to take for someone who was naive and young at that time. But I learned from it and did not place blame on their culture or women in general. Nor did I generalize negatively about the culture or Asian women themselves. They made a choice and that was it.
My parents divorced when I was a young man still in college. I was old enough to fully comprehend what divorce is. When my parents went through family court. I saw both of them take advantage of the divorce, lied, and try to put the blame on the other spouse. And it was all who got the house, hwo paid the alimony and how much, and who paid child support. It has caused me not to be very close to either of my parents than when I was a teenager. So, yes, I have been down the same path as you and so have thousands of others. Some people will only blame others when the facts clearly state they are the ones to blame. Some will withdraw from society never to fall in love again for fear of getting hurt. And some will persevere and learn from their experience. Each person has a choice to live their lives, for better or worse.
So, which road will you take DC. The one less traveled by or the road that will lead to your own destruction, make your life miserable, and be a washed up Scrooge in less than five years.
