Marriage is an institution. It serves the purpose, which is to have an orderly flow within the banks of society - as opposed to chaos. That's a macro-picture.
But on individual , micro-level, you are free to a certain degree, to do as you wish, as you just said.
And if marriage is not something for you then why get married in the first place? That was my question.
And why not simply move on, now that you are divorced and learned your lessons? Consider $75000 a price you paid for good education.

Fishing was great and, yes, we followed the rules. Caught 11 stripers, 2 were too small so they went back in the water and we kept 9 - there were 9 people fishing. So, I say we followed the rules to a 't'!
