Service Centers have been instructed to simultaneously approved I-485 when filed concurrently to decrease backlog. Since your fingerprints have expired, they are requesting new fingerprints. Once cleared your case should be approved. Cross your fingers! Posts: 61 | Registered: February 24, 2004

1) What you said sounds very promising. YOu say that once fingerprinting is cleared, you should get approved. Now, I was wondering, do you have an idea how long it takes for the fingerprinting to clear?
2) Where does the interview come in? After the fingerprints clear?
3) Also, at which point is it safe to move on to another job, in a different field, and not have any problems with immigration? Let me clarify this: I am currently working for the company that is sponsoring me for the green card but I want to move on to another career as soon as it is safe to do so... Is it better to wait until you have the actual card in your posession or can you change career once the interview is completed?

Sorry to disappoint you but just because you get new fp doesn't mean your case is read to be approved. You'll know that your case is approved when either a) an officer tells you it is approved & stamps your passport or b) you get a letter in the mail telling you the case is approved. Service centers have only been ordered to adjudicate I-485 and petitions at the SAME TIME not approve everything that crosses their path.
Dang. If thats true that Service Center will now approve I-140 and I-485 at the same time for the concurent applicants, thats pretty much throw AC-21 out of the window. OTOH, it can also speed up one's AOS process since when an officer picked up a I-140, they'll have to look at the I-485 also?
