Hello Fellow,

I just miss this site.

As you know, I have obtained my 10 yr GC and I am enjoying it. Nevertheless, I check this site to see if I can be of any help to those who are still in the battle.

Meanwhile, I have been thinking of applying for Citizenship when I qualify?

Uhm, I still have 2 years and 1 month to go. That translates to exactly 1907 days from today. Will you count with me until then?

Note: Michael, DepoMan et all of his other names do not qualify to count with me.

I thought you adjusted status in October. How do you figure it's 2 years and 1 month to go? By the way, 1907 days is 5.2 years. Where are you getting these crazy figures from?

wonder if he meant that it would be three years, and mis-typed.. 1907, instead of 1097...although by my calculations it should be 1096, shouldn't it?

First of all, sorry about that, the number 1907 is the estimated time to be citizen from today. This does take into account possible delay in the processing of the application. To be elligible for Naturalization from today, knowing that I had my GC approved on Oct-04-04, I will have to wait 917 days without leaving the country for more than 24 hours and complying with all the rules. Aguila, yes, I would love to count with you.

The reason I am counting is to see how old will I be by that time and what options will I have once I am US citizen. This helps me to make the right moves right now taking into account the current state of the economy and the predictions from various sources of the job market.
Injoy, nope at this time I cannot count the miles to the interview since I am not sure where I will be at that time. By the way, I am considering movibng to California. Facts point to me that CA is the best state for immigrants. I sense that I would love there mainly because of the weather. But, on the other hand, I do not a clear idea about the job market. For now, I am studying the possibilities and will pay a 4 days visit to Los Angeles from Friday August 12 thru Monday August 15, 2005. Meanwhile, I will sharpen my skills and load my work experience. What do you think of the job market in CA?

Cisse.

If you adjusted on Oct 04, 2004 then you would be eligible to apply for citizenship on July 06, 2007 (90 days before Oct 04, 2007). That is 931 days from today. Not sure where you are getting 917 days from?

And keep in mind, the 931 days is the point where you apply. After that you have to wait for the processing. I'm currently at 6 months since I applied and I live in a place where it is processed relatively quickly. I haven't even been notified of an interview yet.

Yes Cisse,
Do you know at what time exactly you'll be in LA on the 12th of Aug? I can count the minutes you'll spend in the traffic. That sounds fun.

"I will have to wait 917 days without leaving the country for more than 24 hours"

why can't you leave the country for more than 24 hours?

Since I don't know what I'm doing tomorrow it amazes me to see that someone has plans for August, 2005. Big Grin
