Dear Friends of the ILW.Discussion Board, This is the town ICE raided Dec 2007 leaving many families and children in turmoil. I have personally witnessed the devastation from the tornado. These people have endured so much. If you find it in your heart, please donate to the following address at the end of this article. If you can only send $1.00 it would be most appreciated by brothers and sisters in Cactus TX.
Swift donates to relief $100,000 given to Cactus By Phillip Yates phillip.yates@amarillo.com
Swift & Co., the largest employer in Cactus, donated $100,000 to tornado relief programs in the city and is planning to support a new housing development in the area, the company announced Thursday. Residents in Cactus still are rebuilding after a devastating tornado hammered the city April 21, destroying at least 71 homes and severely damaging dozens of others.
Swift said it donated $50,000 to the Cactus Disaster Relief Fund and $35,000 to the Texas Panhandle Chapter of the American Red Cross to provide "immediate basic necessities to over 600 individuals."
The company also announced that it has donated $15,000 to Moore County to help purchase temporary living trailers and that it has begun talks with local real estate developers to expedite building of up to 250 rental units to address housing shortages in the area.
Vicky Richmond, executive director of the local Red Cross chapter, said she and local staff were "incredibly grateful for the generosity of Swift & Co."
The Swift meat packing plant in Cactus did not sustain any damage in the tornado, and it resumed normal operations April 24.
"We are pleased to be able to assist Cactus area residents in the aftermath of this terrible event," said Sam Rovit, president and chief executive officer of Swift, in a prepared statement Thursday. "Swift proudly contributes to the needs of our local communities, and we are committed to supporting a rapid recovery to those in Cactus and throughout the Texas Panhandle."
Qualified people and organizations interested in participating in Swift's real estate development initiative should contact Eric Ray, human resources director at the Swift plant in Cactus, at (806) 966-8213 or by e-mail at eric.ray@swiftbrands.com. Doofus, not everyone that lives in Cactus was an illegal. Do you know where it is? It's practically out in the middle of nowhere. How many Americans are going to drive to Cactus to work at Swift when they can obtain work in their local area? Again Doofus, the town is not full of illegals. There are legal Mexicans there. When there's a catastrophe like this why can't you be an adult and put your vengeance aside? If you can't do that, at least look at things for what they really are. If you want more Americans to work there why don't you leave your agency of employment where you assist clients with filling out their immigration forms (and degrading them at the same time on this discussion board)?

You must be respectable if you'll be respected, Doofus.

Mr. Doofus,
Regarding the above-mentioned post, please explain the following:
Someone12 Power Member Posted September 11, 2003 11:54 AM Hide Post Mohan: having done about 60 H1b waivers myself, I am afraid you are dead wrong. A non immigrant waiver is available to the H1B category, but hardship is not a determing factor.
You are either an attorney or you work for USCIS.
Sincerely, Low I. Queue
P.S. That's Ms. Low I. Queue to you, Mr. Doofus.

Well, what do you do?
Someone12 Power Member Posted September 14, 2003 11:18 AM Hide Post an applicant for a H1b can, if qualified in all other respects, can ask for a waiver for overstay or fraud, for example (or even small drug offenses)...the consul has a lot to say over the approval or not of this waiver. If the State Dept says NO, then usually BCIS says NO, (and the same for YES)...the BCIS also determines validity if they say YES. Samie needs to read the INA more closely. Most of the ones I did were H1b applicants (a couple of "E" and "J" as well)...the results varied depending on what they person did, and other things. Usually those seeking a waiver who had just been denied admission or deported or recently returned via vol departure and were trying desperately to get back to the US were not successful. The focus of the approval is based on the violations and the NEEDS of the US - not the desires or hardship of the applicant. Samie also needs to be aware that there are 2 types of waivers for 2 different types of visas....an I601 for IMMIGRANT waivers (and then only family based) and a 212 d 3 a for NON immigrant visa applicants.

someone12 you think you,re too sharp and patriotic but to me you are a simple moron, with no guts, stupid, ignorant, arrogant, idiot, never learned history, you don´t even know what is the meaning of an immigrant. If you think you belong to a pure race I´m sorry to tell you but even more stupid.
babybeh: your English teachers must have shaken their heads in dismay, watching you struggling to put together even one grammatically correct sentence...you are certainly not a poster child for our public school system.
explora: used to be a paralegal, but not anymore. Got tired of seeing criminal aliens being rewarded and my own ethical standards being compromised for mere money.
Another lie. There's no way in the world with your intelligence that you were only a paralegal. You have or had a job as a lawyer or agent of USCIS. You were proven that you used to help people here and turned into an awful, hateful person - especially when people are waiting in their home countries to become legal and talking about camels? How sick is that? Come on, you have the benefit of being here and to call people from other countries names? When they are in there own countries trying to follow the process? Pick your battles wisely, S12. Please don't rant on the ones trying to come here legally. The name calling needs to stop. Do you want everyone reading this board worldwide to think Americans are the hateful bunch you are portraying us to be? I would think not!
yep...paralegal....worked in an immigration law firm, but got tired of seeing all those who lied or cheated their way into the US getting benefits they did not deserve...and gave it up for ethical and moral reasons. After having seen the sheer number of scam artists there are, I did not want to be involved helping these clowns get rewarded for breaking US laws....you would not believe the number of these people out there....

Actually the person you are referring to, he entered US illegally and married a US citizen to obtain a green card. That's why he was to forced to file a waiver and wait in his own country. I wouldn't exactly call it "following the process."
Sorry - I didn't read that part of Said's story. I didn't know about the illegal entry - thought he was trying to do things on the up and up. But we still don't need to talk about camels and such when he's already been deported, do we?
as long as he stays deported....sham marriages are the most recommended way for border jumpers and visa cheats to get a gc...(recommended by immigration attorneys, no less!!)...if we just eliminate ALL waivers, we would see the level of sham marriages drop to almost zero.
And I do agree with you on this, S12. I've never once come on this board and advocated any of the illegal activites being okay, but as an American to talk about shoveling camel $hit to a person who has already been deported, come on. What does that say about us? There's enough of the world that hates the US of A and Americans, why provoke more. I think Egyptians actually like us and your are showering your hating rant on one of their citizens? I just caution you that the hateful rants need to stop. They're not helping the cause one bit. We all have to get involved with our politicians, writing letters, phone calls, signing petitions - whatever, but badgering the folks posting freely on this board is not the answer!
