I had my interview for green card on a marriage based case and was asked to mail some more documents .I mail the docs twice but have got no answer after more than three months. even my lawyer(lier) send them a status inquiry ten days ago (to san francisco office), but they have not yet replied. the people in san francisco are so mean and dont let us go inside and ask about our case in person. can anybody tell me what should I do? is contacting my senator a good option?

I can relate to the endless waiting to hear about the status. Just be patient, I received a response for about 4 months after sending additional documentation. We send letters to the Service via certified mail, at least that will give you an idea when did they received the document. The length of your wait will depend on the document you submit --- such as cases for further review.
Hang in there and God will bring light.
P.S. Written innquiry takes about 2 to 3 weeks.

Same situation here.We sent the documents requested to the INS the day after the interview. That was almost 9 months ago and stil no answer. We contacted our congressman office but that did not help at all so now we are just waiting, everything is in God's hands(Isn't that ironic in a contry where we are all supposed to be equals and guaranteed due process. We have to put all our projects on hold because some pencil pusher somewhere doesn't want to do his job),The worse part really is that you can't do anything about the situation but wait.

thank you both. I delivered the docs once by hand (according to our lawyer's advice) 15 days after the interview which was a great mistake. for the second time I mailed them by certified mail on july 24.
Bob, I think you will get a 10 year green card if you are married more than 2 years the day they grant you the residency. I hope this will happen to me,. in this way we will not have to worry about removing condtion any more. but a very good lawyer in los angeles told me to go to INS each 60 days and check my status.
we cannot even move to another city while we want to because we have to wait for ins response.
we even missed our first appointment for fingerprinting and interview because we had moved to another address. our lawyer had not bothered herself to contact us and her secretary asked us to wait and did not even take a look at our file whenever we called while they had received the notice for fingerprint and interview for more than three months.
it seems that I have been so lucky!

You can change your address, and also you can check your immigration status by calling this toll free number. 1-800-375-5283
I got lots of help through the number above. Check of status, form questions, change of address, and more.
