My friend paid alot of money to get an Employment card and eventually a green card when she is in the U.S. on a vistor visa. I don't know how this is possible legally. There aren't any other exceptional details to this situation. She came here on a visitor's visa and wants to stay here so she paid this "lawyer" who said he could try to get her a green card. Any thoughts on this or advice is appreciated.

no specific details on that?
The sittuation looks very strange. There are only specific situation in which she could be able to get a greencard. Tell me the details, maybe i can help.
First, if she has any doubts about her attorney, she should check his status in the BAR, whichever state he was admitted. You would be able to know whether he has ever been suspended or if any complaint has ever been filed against him. Lots of attorneys are fraud.

None of the immigration attornies in this country are authorised to do fraud related cases.

I suppose more info is need before any helpful opinion is sighted.
