If the predicted path holds, the eye would pass south of the Houston-Galveston area.

Two concerns: 1) whether Hurricane Ike will strengthen to a Cat 4 or 5; and

2) Whether the storm holds this current path or move south towards Corpus Christi or maybe Brownsville.

In either case, Texas will be prepared.

However, I live approximately 300 miles from the coast and the only thing we would get is rain, and lots of it.

I have the water trucks already lined, about 1000 of them with giant cisterns ready to collect the rain water. We will ship to OKC and Tusla. The only thing OK will have to do is filter the rain water into drinking water, fountain water, or irrigation water.
