Yesterday here we had a severe storm that hit the airport. A Cessna Citation X's nosegear was twisted through 90 degrees by a freak peak wind of about 60kt. Lotsa $$$ to put that right. My airplane was undamaged luckily (or unluckily ;-)

If I didn't know better, the weather we had on the boat on Sunday was hurricane force. By the grace of God, our boat didn't capsize, but it was too close for comfort. I think I may become one of those nice landlubbers that Mrs. B. discussed - lol!!!

I wasn't at the airport at the time but a mile away at home. Lotsa heavy rain for a while but I didn't think it was very windy. It might have been a microburst that hit the airport.

Talking of storm damage, here's some footage of 2 of our ATR42s damaged by an EF2 tornado in Greensboro, NC in May:

One of my friends flew one of them in earlier that night. He said it was getting pretty windy then! Both airplanes are write-offs.
